Join artist Eleanor McCaughey this Thursday, 8th of October for Basic Talks

BASIC TALKS is a series of informal talks with leading contemporary practitioners curated by Basic Space in partnership with the Hugh Lane Gallery Explore & Learn Offsite Programme and BA Fine Art at TU Dublin School of Art & Design.

Artist Eleanor McCaughey was born in Dublin and studied at TU Dublin. Eleanor’s multifaceted practice explores the body, identity and place through symbols and metaphors that express personal narratives. Selected exhibitions include Panorama Europa, Glucksman Gallery, Cork, 2026; ‘When you open your door to a mountain’ Kevin Kavanagh Gallery, 2025; A sea change into something rich and strange, RHA 2024; Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, The Complex, 2023; Bones in the Attic, Hugh Lane Gallery 2022; Super Market Art Fair, Stockholm, 2021; Vignettes, Richard Heller Gallery, LA USA, 2019.

As part of our Culture Night activities, we are really excited to present . Located on the fourth floor landing of East Quad you can see the works between 5pm and 9pm today.

is a vertical studio project by students from years 1–4 Visual Communication.
Working in pairs across year-groups, students are asked to prepare a parcel that persuasively presents an issue or subject matter that is important to them.
The outcomes are arranged on shelves, like a depot, where viewers can take an item from the shelf, open it, and engage with its contents.

Celebrate Culture Night 2026 with the Faculty of Arts & Humanities

Join us in East Quad this Culture Night for an evening of visual art, opera and orchestral music on Friday, 18th September

The evening will mark the opening of the MA Creative Arts Exhibition, showcasing work by emerging artists across a range of disciplines. SEND, a Visual Communications exhibition and we will have works from our BA Interior Design class, also opening on Friday evening between 5pm - 9pm.

Take a peek behind the scenes of the TU Dublin Philharmonic as they prepare for their upcoming concert on 26th September. Conductor David Brophy, along with ninety musicians, explore the exhilarating music of George Gershwin (Porgy & Bess) and Modest Mussorgsky (Pictures at an Exhibition). Doors open between 6.30 and 8pm in the East Quad Concert Hall.

From 8:10pm to 8:50pm, the Vocal, Drama and Opera Department will present a series of staged, fully costumed Operatic scenes in the Recital Hall. The programme includes excerpts from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and the Charlotte and Sophie scene leading into Va! laisse couler mes larmes from Massenet’s Werther.

All our Culture Night events are free to attend and no need to book.

Hidden Scientists/Hidden Creatives 2026

🕑 Opening Event: Wednesday, 29th April at 2pm

Now in its third year, Hidden Scientists / Hidden Creatives is a powerful poster exhibition shining a light on the overlooked contributions of women in STEM and Design. Created by second year Visual Communication students at Dublin. This project challenges prevailing narratives about innovation and knowledge by addressing the underrepresentation and historical marginalisation of women in these fields. The exhibition highlights the essential yet frequently unseen roles women have played in advancing research, discovery, and design.

This project is an ongoing collaboration between the TU Dublin School of Art and Design, the School of Biological, Health and Sports Sciences, the Sustainability and Research Hub, and the Research, Ethics, and Integrity Office. It is supported by the Office of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and the Faculty of Sciences and Health.

Each year, upon completion of the exhibition, posters are permanently housed in the Green Way Hub, growing the collection.

EPILOGUE 3 : Third Year Fine Art Exhibition 2026

EPILOGUE 3 presents work developed during the third year of the Fine Art programme at TU Dublin, bringing together a range of practices and processes that reflect the evolving concerns and methodologies of the artists.

This year has offered a space for experimentation and the exploration of individual interests unfolded across a number of modalities: MAKING IS THINKING, MAPPING THE RESEARCH, BUILDING AN IMAGE BANK, MEANS OF PRODUCTION, and MAKING PUBLIC(S).

Also presented as part of EPILOGUE 3 is HIVE_MIND_2026 a compilation film of artist’s research and reference images that have informed their thinking and practice.

EPILOGUE 3 features work by Nick Bayne, Norma Burke, Chloe Cullen, Rachel Curtis, Grainne Daly, Susie de Paor, Mariella Fock, Alec Hales, Alanna Hickey, Mia Hughes, Lucy Keely, Corina Lin, Katelyn Macleod, Karl Mooney, Jacob Musselman, Daniel Parkhill, Saoirse Phillips, Eve Pinkney, Ugne Tauginaite, Emma Thornton, Hanna Undlien.
