Ireland’s 2026 National Hult Prize Foundation Competition winners: ReAble Labs! 🏆

For the second year, the UCD Investors and Entrepreneurs Society had the pleasure of hosting the Irish National Final bringing together 21 student startup teams from Munster Technological University, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, University College Cork, University College Dublin, University of Limerick, University of Galway, and Trinity College Dublin to compete for the chance to change the world. 🌍

Through intense competition, students took part in the round one pitches to see which teams would progress to the final six.

Out of the 21 teams at the Nationals, the seven Universities and final six pitches; ReAble Labs solution uniquely impressed. The start-up are approaching the task of designing and building affordable prosthetic hands that combine function, comfort, and technology to empower everyday life. Congratulations to our finalists ExHalo Medical, Medura, Auxo, MaternaGuard and Windhover and to all teams that took part.

Ireland’s Hult Prize Nationals didn’t happen overnight and there’s a few thanks in order.

We’re incredibly proud to share that our UCD Investors & Entrepreneurs / UCD Student Managed Fund team placed 4th globally at the 2026, Rotman International Trading Competition in Toronto, Canada.

Competing against 40 of the top universities from around the world, the team delivered University College Dublin’s best ever finish at the competition, ranking 3rd in Europe and 1st in Ireland.

An outstanding result for all involved!

A massive congratulations to the UCD team supported by the UCD I&E who won the VCIC (Venture Capital Investment Competition) Irish qualifier last Saturday, beating out all other competing Irish universities.

The competition involved evaluating early-stage startups and presenting detailed investment theses in front of venture capital industry experts.

The team will go on to represent Ireland at the international competition at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this coming April.

A massive thanks as well to UCD alum Caimin Kenny for all his work in organising this year’s competition.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. David Kelly, Chief Global Strategist at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, for a fantastic fireside chat.

We covered everything from David’s Irish roots and career journey, to practical advice for students, global market shifts, tariffs, and the broader macro outlook. It was an incredibly insightful discussion with plenty of valuable, honest reflections and real-world perspective.

After a night of inspiring pitches, innovative ideas, and fierce but friendly competition, we’re thrilled to announce our results:
