We are delighted here at Dunboyne College of Further Education to celebrate the outstanding achievement of our past student, Ella Graham Harvey, who secured 5th place in the WorldSkills Ireland Beauty Therapy competition in Shanghai.

This prestigious achievement places Ella amongst the very best young beauty therapists in the world.

Following her win at the WorldSkills Ireland Beauty competition while studying at Dunboyne College of Further Education Ella was selected to represent Ireland on the international stage.

While in Shanghai, Ella was assessed to exacting international standards by expert judges from across the beauty therapy industry.

Huge congratulations again to Ella and we wish you all the best as you continue to progress within the Beauty industry.

Ella will also be interviewed on LMFMs The Lite Lunch this week, so tune in if you would like to hear more from Ella about her experience.

🐴 Just how long is a horse’s digestive system? 🤔

Our Equine students decided there was only one way to find out… walk it out! 📏🐎

The equine digestive system is an incredible 30–40 metres long from start to finish! 🤯 That’s longer than a school bus… and certainly a lot longer than you might expect!

So, our students measured it out across the college grounds, giving them a very practical way to visualise just how extensive the equine gastrointestinal tract really is. 🐴➡️📏

From the oesophagus, stomach and small intestine to the caecum, colon and re**um, it’s an amazing system designed to process a high-fibre diet.

📚 Learning by doing — literally!

🚑 We were delighted to welcome Liam Stewart, Community Engagement Officer with National Ambulance Service (NAS) to speak to us in Dunboyne College of Further Education recently.

🚑 Liam gave a presentation to our Pre-Paramedic, Fire and Ambulance class which detailed the history, current structure and roles within the National Ambulance Service (NAS), along with what is involved in the recruitment process.

🚑 Liam was happy to receive a lot of questions from our students and we are very grateful for all of the time he allowed us, given his hectic schedule.
