Since 2012, the International Conference on Universal Design has served as a recognised platform for sharing research, innovative practice, and lived experience across disciplines. Galway is hosting the 8th International Universal Design Conference next month - https://ud26.ie/

Our talented Adult Learning colleagues David Stafford and Dr Bonnie Long have created a poster for the event showcasing the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) template developed by the Centre to support courses. Drawing on Quality Matters and Universal Design for Learning principles, the template promotes a consistent and accessible approach to online course design.

That’s a wrap! 🚜

What a fantastic three days at our first-ever University of Galway presence at !

Our star attractions were a big hit and brought plenty of fun and excitement to the Study Hub - for visitors and staff alike!

One of our highlights was the 3D printing demonstration, showcasing how this technology can provide practical solutions for farming and agriculture. It was a great example of the innovative work happening through our suite of Advanced Manufacturing courses.

We also loved meeting everyone who stopped by our Study Hub. From enthusiastic secondary school students already looking forward to our upcoming Open Days, to parents exploring part-time study options, it was brilliant to hear about everyone’s plans and ambitions.

And one of the biggest surprises of the week? Our wonderful University of Galway alumni who dropped in to share their stories and memories. It was lovely to hear how much the University continues to mean to them. 🩷

And, of course, we all developed a bit of a soft spot for Jessie the rescue dog! 🐾

A huge thank you to the Ryan Institute for bringing everything together for this event 👏

Three busy days, lots of conversations, plenty of inspiration and a fantastic first Ploughing experience for University of Galway. 🌱
