We were delighted to have Fidelity Investments Ireland return to sponsor the Women in STEM Award at this year’s Dublin City University Faculty of Engineering and Computing Final-Year Project Expo. This award celebrates the contributions of women to STEM disciplines, helping to champion a more inclusive future for the industry.

The first-place Women in STEM Award for 2026 was presented to Katie Cullen and Alanna McSweeney for their project “DevSync”, a collaborative web-based code editor that allows users to work together in real time using their GitHub accounts. It supports live editing, project syncing, and admin controls for managing collaborators and access within shared workspaces.

The second-place award went to Diana Eze for her project “EasySound”, a contact-free audio playback system.

By supporting a new generation of STEM talent, our collaboration with is helping to nurture creativity, drive innovation, and strengthen the talent pipeline in Ireland. Congratulations to Katie, Alanna, and Diana for their outstanding work!

We are delighted to share that Ballygowan and Energise Sport have today been announced as official hydration partners of DCU Sport.

The new four-year partnership between these two proud Irish brands and DCU Sport is rooted in a shared commitment to performance, wellbeing and student athlete development.
Funding from the partnership will support the DCU Sport Scholarship fund, which advances the holistic development of up to 200 high-performance student athletes each year.

Ballygowan and Energise Sport will also be the official hydration partner across DCU Sport, providing hydration support for match days, training and competitions. Dublin City University currently has 36 sport clubs catering to students of all abilities, from participation players to performance athletes.

Speaking about the partnership, James Galvin, Director of Sport at DCU, said:

“At DCU, we pride ourselves on the promotion of sport and physical activity as an integral part of the student experience, as well as on our holistic support for high-performance student athletes. The support of Ballygowan and Energise Sport as our official hydration partners will further advance our Sport Scholarship Programme and provide hydration support for match days and training.”
