❤️ €1,042 Raised for Kerry Hospice ❤️

A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who supported our recent school fundraiser for Kerry Hospice.

Over 100 students took part in our walking, running, cycling, and rolling challenge, logging hundreds of kilometres in support of this wonderful cause. Alongside the challenge, students organised bake sales and a non-uniform day, with young people from every year group contributing by baking and donating treats to be sold.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our school community, we are delighted to announce that we have raised €1,042 for Kerry Hospice.

This achievement would not have been possible without the enthusiasm and commitment of our students, the support of staff and families, and the hard work of the Student Council.

A special word of thanks must go to Ms McCarthy, who was the driving force behind the initiative from start to finish. Her dedication, organisation, and encouragement helped make the event such a success.

Well done to everyone involved. Your efforts will make a real difference, and you should be very proud of what has been achieved together.

🛶 As part of the Transition Year programme, our students completed a kayaking course with Caragh Outdoors- River Kayak, Sea Kayak & Canoe courses 🌊

Throughout the course, students developed their paddling skills, water safety knowledge, confidence and teamwork while enjoying time on the water 🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️ Students worked towards Canoeing Ireland qualifications, with some achieving their Level 1 Award and others progressing to achieve their Level 2 Award 🏅

Students thoroughly enjoyed their sessions with Enda and looked forward to each class throughout the year 😊

A huge thank you to Enda and Caragh Outdoors for providing such an engaging, enjoyable and rewarding experience for our students 👏

☀️JCSP Summer Celebration ☀️

Last Monday was all about celebrating our 3rd year students! We proudly presented their JCSP Profiles, a snapshot of all the hard work, progress, and personal achievements made throughout the course of their Junior Cycle. They were treated with a BBQ to mark the occasion! Well done everyone! 🎉📚👏🍔

All our Junior students take part in the JCSP (Junior Certificate School Programme) 📘 as well as completing their Junior Cycle state exams in June. It aims to help students build skills 🛠️ and confidence 💪 that align with their strengths and needs, offering a more tailored approach to learning.

The JCSP focuses on a wide range of skills, not just academic ones! It encourages students to develop practical abilities 🧠, build their self-esteem 🌟, and engage in meaningful activities 🧩 that support their future education and life.

Students are assessed on their progress and achievements through the JCSP profile 📝, which showcases their efforts across various areas including literacy ✏️, numeracy ➕, social skills 🤝, and personal development 🌱

Through engaging activities and continuous assessment, students create a profile that reflects their journey and achievements beyond the classroom.

Thanks to Ms Moynihan for organising and to Nora and Siobhán SNA for the BBQ 🙏

Thursday and Friday we will be hosting a Bake Sale for Kerry Hospice Foundation 🍰❤️

📍 Thursday – Lunch
📍 Friday – Break & Lunch

Friday’s bake sale will also be accompanied by performances from our talented student musicians 🎶

It’s a great way to finish the week before exams while also supporting a fantastic cause within our community.

All baked goods have been freshly prepared by students the night before each sale — a huge effort from everyone involved 👏

Well done to Ms McCarthy and all of the students helping organise and support the event.

Please come along, support the sale, and help us raise funds for Kerry Hospice.
