Due to unforseen circumstances the ATU Donegal Letterkenny Campus is closed today Friday 16th October 2026 until further notice.

All classes cancelled today. Apologies for inconvenience caused.

ℹ️ATU Statement Regarding Industrial Action:

Industrial action relating to national pay agreement negotiations is currently taking place across Ireland and is affecting higher education institutions, including Atlantic Technological University (ATU).

ATU has been notified by the TUI, SIPTU, UNITE and FORSA trade unions of planned strike action on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, and Wednesday, 21 October 2026.

If this action proceeds, students should not attend any ATU campus as teaching activities, catering and student support services will not be available on these dates. Should the strike be cancelled, classes will go ahead.

All teaching activity, including both on-campus and online classes, has been cancelled for Wednesday 14 October. Classes will be held as usual on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

➡️ Students should continue to monitor their ATU email and MyATU for updates and further information.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

☆ You know much more than you realise, remember your clinical instincts and intution will guide you.

☆ The next 12 months transition from student to intern, to being a qualified nurse takes time, know its okay not to know everything right away.

☆ Most importantly remember to rest, self-care and lean on your support systems, and celebrate how far you have come.

Those who complete this one-year course with us not only come away with a Level 5 Certificate in Nursing Studies, but are guaranteed a place on this degree. As part of Relay For Life 2026 Donegal, the ATU Department of Nursing and Healthcare staff and Nursing students hosted another Teddy Bear Hospital.

Some of the attendees took their ownTeddy Bears from home that were in need of some TLC.

All were warmly welcomed 🌞 by our fabulous ATU Department of Nursing and Healthcare team who patched some up and all were good as new again!

Thanks to Mary Dunnions stewardship and our wonderful Nursing students who gave so willingly of their time, care and attention at Relay For Life Donegal 2026 🧸 🐻 🧸
