It’s Lion’s Gate season again and around Green Tara, we like to use moments like this as an invitation to pause and check in with ourselves.

The 8/8 symbolism is often connected with courage, creativity, confidence and stepping into a little more of your own light. You don’t have to make it complicated. Maybe it’s simply noticing where you’ve been holding yourself back, or giving yourself permission to follow something that feels exciting.

So this 8/8, take a moment to ask yourself: What am I ready to step into?

A little more courage. A little more trust. A little more of you.

Every year on August 1st, families and communities across the Andes gather to honour Pachamama with an Earth Offering.

It’s a beautiful reminder to slow down and acknowledge everything the Earth gives us: our food, the water we drink, the mountains, the plants, the animals and the life that sustains us. The offering is made in gratitude, recognising that caring for the Earth begins with living in relationship with her.

At Green Tara, we feel incredibly fortunate to learn these traditions from Q’ero elders who continue to carry this wisdom with such generosity and integrity. Their teachings remind us that gratitude isn’t just something we feel, it’s something we practice.

May this August begin with a simple thank you to the Earth beneath our feet. 🌿

As summer reaches its height, the Celtic calendar turns toward Lughnasadh, the festival of the first harvest.

For centuries, this cross-quarter day marked a time to gather, celebrate the abundance of the land and give thanks for the work that had brought the harvest into being. Rooted in the story of Lugh and his foster mother Tailtiu, Lughnasadh reminds us that every harvest is the result of dedication, sacrifice and care.

While our lives may look very different today, the invitation remains the same: to pause, recognise what is flourishing, express gratitude for what has supported us and reflect on what we are ready to share with others.

At Green Tara, we continue to honour these seasonal rhythms, recognising that true wellbeing grows from living in closer relationship with nature and its cycles.

May this Lughnasadh bring gratitude for all that has taken root and trust in the harvest still to come. 🌾

We explored one of the most beautiful teachings within the Andean tradition: the path of the 7 Ñustas, often known as the Rainbow Path.

Each Ñusta represents a distinct feminine wisdom and quality of nature, inviting us to cultivate a deeper relationship with ourselves, the natural world and the sacred energies that surround us. These teachings are not simply learned through words, but through ceremony, experience and personal practice.

With gratitude for another day of heartfelt teachings, shared with openness, respect and community.

The Chumpi Mesa is a sacred Andean healing path that works with the wisdom of the chumpi (medicine stones), ceremony and a deep relationship with the living energies of nature. It is a journey of personal transformation, carried with humility, respect and direct experience.

Our heartfelt thanks to every participant who has joined us for this training with P’aqo Don Alejandro Apaza Machaca. Your openness, presence and commitment have created a beautiful learning community, and it is an honour for Green Tara to host these precious teachings here in Ireland.💚
