Our Stage 1, Early Learning and Care students enjoyed an art workshop with local artist Caroline Keane. The workshop aimed to develop creative skills in our learners before they start professional practice placements in local early years services. The weather on the Comeragh Mountains may have been unexpectedly moody this morning but spirits were high amongst the Exercise & Fitness crew. It always bodes well for the year ahead when our scholars reveal their adventurous side with a dip in Lake Coumshingaun and they did not disappoint!

Congratulations to our Early Learning and Care teachers, Sandra Duggan and Fiona Horan, who recently completed training as part of the Erasmus+ programme in Brescia, Italy. πŸ‘πŸŽ“

Following their training, Fiona and Sandra brought our Stage 2 Early Learning and Care learners to Italy for an exciting 10-day Erasmus programme.

During their time in Italy, students had the opportunity to observe Early Learning and Care practice, take part in workshops and gain valuable international experience. 🌍✨

It was a fantastic opportunity for our learners to broaden their experience, develop their skills and gain an insight into ELC practice in another country.

Pictured with Fiona and Sandra are Portlaoise Institute Principal, Keith McClearn, and LOETB ELC Coordinator, Breda Ladd.

Well done to everyone involved in making this Erasmus experience such a success! πŸ‘ #
