It was our pleasure to welcome 11 officers from Seapeak to the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) last week for an intensive five-day Leadership, Management and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme.
This unique, bespoke programme is designed to challenge participants, strengthen leadership skills and develop the confidence to make critical decisions under pressure, particularly in situations where the safety and lives of others may depend on those decisions.
Throughout the week, the officers participated in a demanding combination of practical exercises and scenarios, including firefighting, enclosed space training, Search and Rescue (SAR) Command and Control, Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) and Working at Heights.
Five days of learning, leading, problem solving and decision making, with teamwork and communication at the heart of every challenge.
At times, the pressure is deliberately intense, with realistic scenarios designed to test leadership, situational awareness, and the ability to make sound decisions in challenging circumstances. Equally important is the trust, support and teamwork developed between participants throughout the programme.
It was also particularly lovely to welcome back one of our own NMCI alumni, now returning to the college as a Seapeak officer.
We would like to thank all participants for their enthusiasm, commitment and engagement throughout a very busy week. We hope you enjoyed your experience at NMCI and take away valuable learning, new perspectives and lasting professional connections.
Thank you to Seapeak for once again placing your trust in NMCI Training Services to support the professional development of your officers.
