We were delighted to see our 2nd Year REEdI students present their ideas as part of our collaboration with Inspired Scotia Village Project.
The creativity and commitment on display made us incredibly proud 🤩 Each group demonstrated thoughtful, practical approaches to tackling waste plastic in our marine and beach environments—while keeping inclusion and real-world impact at the heart of their designs.
A special highlight of the day was the presentation of a 3D printer to Inspired, generously supported and presented by Prof Joseph Walsh Vice Dean Faculty of Engineering and Director of the IMaR Research Centre at Munster Technological University (MTU) This will play a key role in helping Inspired bring these innovative concepts to life.
Inspired participants recently engaged with our Blocks4Change (B4C) initiative—part of the STEAM Powered Action for Sustainable Futures project. Through a LEGO® Serious Play® workshop, participants explored local sustainability challenges and co-created practical, community-driven solutions.
This collaboration is a fantastic demonstration of the power of combining engineering, sustainability, and inclusive design — empowering communities to actively participate in climate action and circular economy solutions.
