Bringing the Relate Framework to life

Target Audience: Teachers, school leaders, special education teachers, SNAs, and anyone seeking effective, relationship-based approaches to supporting children and young people.
This 1.5-hour introductory webinar will provide educators with an overview of the CPS model and its application in school settings.
Participants will explore how concerning behaviour can be understood through a developmental, relationship-based lens and learn practical strategies for working collaboratively with students to address concerns and solve problems.
CPS aligns closely with the principles of the NCSE RELATE Framework and the Department of Education's Wellbeing Policy Statement and Framework for Practice. By focusing on relationships, belonging, participation, student voice, and collaborative problem-solving, CPS provides schools with a practical approach to translating these policies into everyday practice.
Recognise why developmental variability should be the key focal point of every classroom, with “meeting every student where they’re at” as the definition of good teaching.
Describe the Assessment of Skills and Unsolved Problems (ASUP) as a tool for understanding, identifying, and prioritising the problems that are causing students’ concerning behavior.
Understand how problem-solving conversations can be used to proactively address the factors that are interfering with student progress, solve problems, enhance skills, and strengthen relationships.
Recognise how Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) supports the implementation of the RELATE Framework and promotes student wellbeing through strong relationships, meaningful participation, and inclusive practice.
Suitable for teachers, school leaders, special education teachers, SNAs, and other educational professionals. This webinar will provide participants with a new lens for understanding behaviour and practical strategies that can be applied immediately in school settings.
Bio of Presenters: Dr Ross Greene & Ruth Eadie
Dr Ross Greene
Dr Ross Greene is a clinical psychologist and the originator of the innovative, evidence-based CPS model, as described in his influential books The Explosive Child, Lost at School, Lost & Found, Raising Human Beings, and the recently-released The Kids Who Aren’t Okay.
Dr. Greene was on the faculty at Harvard Medical School for over 20 years, and now oversees the non-profit he founded in 2009, Lives in the Balance, which advocates legislatively on behalf of kids with concerning behaviors and their caregivers and provides training and vast free resources on the CPS model. He is also currently adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at Virginia Tech and adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.
Ruth Eadie
Ruth Eadie is an Irish primary school principal with over two decades of experience in education. She has a particular interest in student wellbeing, positive behaviour support and inclusive school practice. Ruth is passionate about the potential of Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) to help educators better understand behaviour, strengthen relationships and create school environments where all students can thrive.
