מכון גוטליב שומאכר, שנוסד על ידי פרופ' אלכס כרמל ז"ל, פועל באוניברסיטת חיפה וממוקם בבית קלר. המכון מתמקד בחקר הפעילות הנוצרית בארץ ישראל בעת החדשה, תוך מתן דגש מיוחד על מורשת הטמפלרים. בספריית המכון העשירה ובארכיונו ניתן למצוא אוספים ייחודיים ונדירים המתעדים את פעילות אגודת הטמפלרים, בעיקר באזור חיפה וצפון הארץ, לצד אוסף נרחב של מפות ושרטוטים היסטוריים. המכון מקדם מחקר אקדמי, מארגן כנסים ומפגשים מ

The Gottlieb Schumacher Institute, founded by the late Prof. Alex Carmel, operates at the University of Haifa and is located in Keller House. The institute focuses on the Research of Christian activity in Palestine in the Modern Era, with a particular emphasis on the heritage of the Templers. Its rich library and archives contain unique and rare collections documenting the activities of the Templer Society, especially in the Haifa area and northern Israel, alongside an extensive collection of historical maps and architectural drawings. The institute promotes academic research, organizes conferences and scientific meetings, holds public lectures, and invites scholars from Israel and abroad to conduct research at its premises.
