A Cannes and Venice filmmaker, Sergei Loznitsa brought his craft, his business advice, and his unreleased masterpiece to a workshop for Tel Aviv University film students.

During a four-day workshop, Loznitsa screened Imperium, his Soviet-archive feature set to premier at Venice in 2026, before anyone else had seen it, then explained how he built every sound in the film from scratch.

Applications are closing soon for Falling Walls.

On 9 September 2026, TAU will host Falling Walls Lab, a 3-minute pitch competition for students, researchers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from all disciplines.

Apply by 15 July 2026 for the chance to pitch at TAU and compete for a spot at the Falling Walls Foundation Global Finale in Berlin this November.

Ideas from all fields are welcome, especially those with the potential to make a positive impact on science and society.

What if glass could repair itself? Tel Aviv University researchers have developed a transparent, self-healing adhesive glass that forms spontaneously when it comes into contact with water at room temperature, using standard lab equipment.

Led by PhD student Gal Finkelstein-Zuta and Prof. Ehud Gazit, the breakthrough could open new possibilities in optics, electro-optics, satellite communication, remote sensing, and biomedicine.
