The Department of Psychology, Tripura University in collaboration with National Mental Health Programme, National Mental Health Mission, Govt. of Tripura is organizing an Awareness Programme on Su***de Prevention on 10th September 2026.

The programme will be conducted in two sections:

Section 1: An Awareness Rally from 12:30 PM, starting from the Open Theatre, TU.

Section 2: An Awareness Seminar from 2:00 PM onwards at the Conference Hall, Central Library (1st Floor), Tripura University.

Tripura University has introduced 16 clubs to promote creativity, leadership, skills, social responsibility, and the holistic development of students.
During Diksharambh 2026, students enthusiastically registered for membership in clubs including Quiz, Debate, Film, Photography, Swachhata, Drama, Literary, Environment, Animal Welfare, Music, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Unity in Diversity, Coding, Wellness, Nukkad-Mime-Street Theatre and Heritage.
Newly established: Media Literacy Club, aimed at developing critical thinking, media awareness and responsible digital citizenship among students.

Tripura University Organised Deeksharambh दीक्षारम्भ Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026

Tripura University organised Deeksharambh "दीक्षारम्भ", the Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026 today, 1 September 2026, at Maharaja Bir Bikram Satabarsiki Bhavan, welcoming newly admitted students.
Lt. Col. Rohan Gupta, 15 Battalion NCC, Chief Guest, inspired students to join NCC and contribute to nation-building through discipline, leadership and service.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. Debabrata Das encouraged students to compete with themselves and strive to become a better version of themselves every day.
Prof. Partha Sarthi Gupta, Dean of Students’ Welfare & Registrar (In-charge) Prof. Samir Kumar Sil delivered the welcome address. Faculty members also shared valuable insights on the objectives and expected outcomes of SIP.

The "Deeksharambh (Students' Induction Program) दीक्षारंभ 2026, shall be held on September 1, 2026 (Tuesday) at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Shatabarshiki Bhawan, Tripura University, Suryamaninagar. The ceremony shall commence at 10 AM at the venue. Lieutenant Colonel Rohan Gupta, Commanding Officer of the 15th Battalion, NCC, and Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof Debabrata Das has kindly consented to grace the occasion as Chief Guest.

Tripura University organised the “Khelo India Dialogue: Khel Ki Baat, Prime Minister Modi Ke Saath” programme with great enthusiasm and active participation from students.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor-in-Charge, Prof. Shyamaldas, Registrar Prof. Sameer Kumar Sil, and Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof. Partha Sarthi Gupta. From the Tripura University Sports Department, Prof. Sudip Das and Prof. Prasanta Kumar Das also participated in the programme.

Shri Biswajit Shil, Sabhapati, Tripura West, encouraged and motivated students to actively participate in sports and embrace the spirit of fitness, discipline and sportsmanship.
