Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College successfully conducted a 30-hour Beauty Workshop for girl students from 29 December 2025 to 03 January 2026, with enthusiastic participation from 71 students. The initiative aimed at skill development through practical, hands-on training in Bridal Makeup, Hair Styling, Skin Care, and Self Grooming.

The workshop was highly interactive and skill-oriented, enabling participants to gain real-world exposure and confidence in beauty and grooming techniques. An excellent display of knowledge, teamwork, and competitive spirit was witnessed as the Quiz Team of Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College emerged as the winner at Mediotsav–2026, a Quiz Competition held on 7 February 2026 and organized by the Gujarat University–affiliated institute, National Institute of Mass Communication and Journalism. With participation from nearly 25 colleges, the event progressed through a written round, a buzzer round, and an intense final round, where our team secured first place with an impressive performance.

The winning team comprised Ms. Unnati Vinodchandra Tapodhan, Mr. Harshrajsinh Ashoksinh Rathod, and Mr. Harshrajsinh Surendrasinh Solanki. The team participated under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Hetal Doshi and Dr. Beena Patel, with constant motivation from Prin. Dr. N. D. Shah. We are proud to share that students of Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College participated in an Elocution Competition organized by Yuvak Vikas Trust on 30 January 2026, on the occasion of Gandhi Nirvan Day. The competition, held on the topic “સત્યાગ્રહ થી સામાજિક માધ્યમો સુધી: અન્યાયના પ્રતિકારનાં બદલાતા સ્વરૂપો”, witnessed participation from 45 students representing various colleges of Ahmedabad. The event aimed to spread the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi among the youth and to encourage reflection on values such as truth, non-violence, peace, and moral integrity.

We are pleased to announce that Mr. Solanki Harshrajsinh secured 3rd Place in the competition and was awarded a certificate and a cash prize of ₹1,500. On the occasion of National Youth Day, Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College commemorated the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda on 12 January 2026 through thoughtful academic and developmental initiatives.

The programme highlighted the importance of self-development, discipline, and moral values in student life, drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s teachings. Active student participation made the celebration meaningful and reflective.

As part of the observance, a Holistic Health workshop was organized in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris, focusing on mental, physical, and emotional well-being. The session introduced students to meditation, positive thinking, inner balance, and healthy lifestyle practices, enabling them to experience calmness, focus, and mental clarity.

As part of its commitment to practical and industry-oriented education, the college organized an Industrial cm Educational Visit on 23 January 2025 to the Amul Dairy Plant and Amul Chocolate Factory.

A total of 55 students, accompanied by faculty members, participated in the visit to gain first-hand exposure to large-scale industrial operations. Students learned about milk processing, pasteurization techniques, quality control standards, and modern automation practices. The visit also provided insights into chocolate manufacturing, packaging processes, and the use of advanced machinery in food production.

The interaction with industry professionals helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices, making the visit both informative and enriching.

Prin M. C. Shah Commerce College recently celebrated Indian Constitution Day with a meaningful session at Navgujarat Campus, guided by Principal Dr. N. D. Shah.

Renowned legal expert and alumnus Shri Pranab Bhatt (Legal & HR Head, Navneet Prakashan) served as the chief guest, delivering an insightful talk on the Constitution’s origins, core principles, and its role as the living spirit of Indian democracy. He emphasized that the Constitution ensures equal rights and duties for every citizen.

Principal Dr. N. D. Shah encouraged students to be responsible citizens and thanked Shri Bhatt for enriching the event. The session concluded with a collective reading of the Preamble.

As part of the state-wide CAWACH initiative jointly organized by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat, and Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College, a series of impactful inter-collegiate events were conducted from 23rd to 31st December 2025, focusing on cyber awareness, women’s safety, digital literacy, and social responsibility.

▶️ 23-Dec: Essay Writing Competition
Students presented insightful essays on cyber security, digital awareness, and women empowerment. The event promoted responsible digital citizenship among the youth.

▶️ 24-Dec: Poster Making Competition
Participants creatively depicted themes of cyber safety and women's security through powerful posters, judged by academic experts Dr. Rinki Menon and Prof. Parul Patel.

▶️ 26-Dec: Collage Making Competition
Students showcased imaginative collages on socially relevant themes. Judge Prof. Dipti Bhavsar appreciated the creativity and academic engagement of the participants.

▶️ 27-Dec: General Knowledge Quiz Competition
With a record-breaking 50 participants, this intellectually engaging quiz encouraged awareness across diverse fields and sharpened thinking skills.

▶️ 29-Dec: Rangoli Competition
Through the language of colors, students expressed themes of cyber awareness, digital safety, and social sensitivity, presenting rangolis that were both artistic and meaningful.

▶️ 31-Dec: Valedictory Function
The concluding ceremony featured Dr. Piyush Patel, Registrar of Gujarat University, as chief guest, who highlighted the importance of such initiatives in today’s digital age. The enthusiastic participation of over 120 students was recognized and appreciated.

These week-long events not only nurtured creativity and awareness but also strengthened the values of social responsibility and digital citizenship among students.

We are proud to announce that Jinal M. Vaniya, a Semester 5 student of Prin M. C. Shah Commerce College, has secured 1st place in the Gujarat University Inter-College Women's Boxing Competition in the 79 kg category, held on 25th November 2025 at the Gujarat University Boxing Hall.

Her outstanding performance has earned her a place in the Gujarat University Boxing Team, and she will now represent the university at the All India Inter-University Championship.

Prin. M. C. Shah Commerce College organized a workshop on “Digital Tools for Mental Wellbeing” on 18th November 2025. The session was led by Mr. Jomy T. Jose from NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences), bringing expert insights to help students understand the role of digital tools in maintaining mental health.

The workshop, attended by over 100 students, introduced practical, accessible ways to manage stress and improve emotional well-being through digital platforms. Mr. Jose explained the use of mindfulness apps, stress-management resources, mood-tracking methods, and the development of healthy digital habits clearly and engagingly.
