he Department of Mathematics of Union Christian College ranks as one among the best in Mahatma Gandhi University. Started in 1925, upgraded as a Postgraduate Department on 1965 and a Research Department in 1999, our Research Department produced the first ever PhD in Mathematics from an affiliated college of the M.G. The Department constantly produces nearly cent percent results in both PG and UG P
rogrammes. With 10 faculty members, 5 Research Guides, 14 Research scholars and about 150 students, the department works towards its objective of creating better persons with a sense of Mathematical thinking and Logical reasoning to deal with the real world problems of day to day life. The Department is well equipped with a Computer Lab of 25 systems, Mathematics Library with nearly 1000 Books and Journals, Maths Lab, Internet facilities and Audio Visual supports. Seminars and Lectures were regularly conducted on academic subjects, as well as on Personality Development, Career Development, Communicative Skills and Computer Awareness in addition to special Tutorials, Remedial Coaching and Value Education Classes. Nearly 40 percent of our students got placements in the IT or Education sectors.
