*National Consumer Rights Day celebrated by Legal Literacy Club*

Legal Literacy Club of Shahzada Nand College, Amritsar celebrated National Consumer Rights Day under the directive patronage of esteemed President of college managing committee Mrs. Sushma Mehra and able guidance of Principal Dr.Reena Talwar. On this occasion, students wrote slogans and made posters to raise awareness about consumer rights and the importance of consumer protection laws, which safeguard people from issues like unfair trade practices and defective goods.

*Discussion on the topic “Artificial Neural Networks” on the fifth day of FDP at Shahzada Nand College, Amritsar*
During the fifth day of FDP being conducted at Shahzada Nand College, Green Avenue, Amritsar under the guidance of Honorable President of the College Managing Committee Mrs. Sushma Mehra Ji and the able guidance of Principal Dr. Reena Talwar, Dr. Ishpreet Singh Virk Associate Professor, Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran, Punjab shared his views on the topic “Artificial Neural Networks”. He started the session by introducing Soft Computing, an emerging field, which aims to develop the next generation of Artificial Intelligence systems. He explained various soft computing techniques and their main branches, including Artificial Intelligence, Fuzzy Logic, and Evolutionary Computing, along with their advantages and disadvantages. Dr. Virk then discussed neural networks, explaining how the human brain works and how Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) are designed to mimic human intelligence. He elaborated on activation functions, multilayer neural networks, and key features of artificial neural networks. The session also covered perceptron training and testing algorithms, providing the participants with a basic understanding of neural network learning processes. In addition, Dr. Virk introduced tools like Matlab and explained the basic architecture of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and deep learning models. To enhance conceptual clarity, he illustrated these ideas using practical examples, including the Traveling Salesman Problem, which was explained using a Genetic Algorithm. Overall, the session provided the participants with a comprehensive understanding of artificial neural networks and their practical applications in modern A.I. systems. At the end of the session, College Principal Dr. Reena Talwar congratulated the FDP Convener Mrs. Amanjot Kaur, Coordinator Mrs. Divya Batra for the success of this session.

*Fourth Day of the six days FDP featured Dr. Mohit Angurala, Assistant Professor at Constituent College of GNDU Pathankot, as resource person*
Six Days Virtual Faculty Development Programme on the topic *”Empowering Educators through Artificial Intelligence”* is being organised at Shahzada Nand College, Amritsar under the directive patronage of esteemed President of college managing committee Mrs.Sushma Mehra and able guidance of Principal Dr.Reena Talwar.
On the fourth day of the FDP, Dr. Mohit Angurala, Assistant Professor at Constituent College of GNDU Pathankot was the resource person,who delivered an engaging session on the topic *“Empowering Educators through Artificial Intelligence and Research Aligning with NEP 2020.”*
In this session, Dr. Angurala discussed how artificial intelligence is transforming education by enhancing teaching and learning practices. He highlighted three key reasons for the integration of AI in education: growing student diversity, differences in learners’ pace and levels of comprehension, and the need for digital transformation in the education system.

He also explained the need for the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, illustrating its significance with an example from the life of Nelson Mandela. The session outlined the goals of NEP 2020, noting that the policy was released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and launched in India on 29th July 2020, after a gap of 34 years.

Dr. Angurala further discussed the new school education structure and its stages under NEP 2020. He introduced several AI tools for enhancing teaching effectiveness, including ChatGPT, Copilot, SlidesAI, Beautiful.ai, TeacherMatrix, Gradescope, QuizAI, Power BI, ASC Timetable, Timetabler, and many others.
Overall, the session was highly informative. A large number of faculty members from different universities ans colleges attended the FDP.

The session provided valuable insights into the role of AI in empowering educators and aligning research and teaching practices with the vision of NEP 2020.

*On the third day of FDP, Resource Person Dr. Maneet Kaur focused on “Artificial Intelligence Tools for Modern Researchers”*
Six Days Virtual Faculty Development Programme is being organised on the topic” Empowering Educators through Artificial Intelligence”by the PG Department of Shahzada Nand College, Amritsar under the directive patronage of esteemed President of college managing committee Mrs.Sushma Mehra and able guidance of Principal Dr.Reena Talwar. Session 3 of the FDP was conducted by the resource person Dr. Maneet Kaur, Assistant Professor, CSE Department, Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology Amritsar. Dr. Maneet Kaur delivered an insightful session on the topic “Artificial Intelligence Tools for Modern Researchers.” She discussed a wide range of AI tools that are extensively used in contemporary research.

The session covered the literature review stage, which is considered one of the most fundamental and important steps in the research process. Dr. Kaur introduced tools such as Skyspace, Semantic Scholar, and other platforms for locating research articles, identifying keywords, and understanding research methodologies.

She also explained the role of data analysis and machine learning in research, highlighting software such as MATLAB and Python, along with tools like Google Colab. Additionally, she familiarized participants with various writing, editing, and plagiarism-checking tools, including Paperpal, QuillBot, Grammarly, Turnitin, and iThenticate.

Towards the end of the session, Dr. Kaur discussed journal selection platforms such as Elsevier Journal Finder, Springer Journal Finder, and several others, which assist researchers in identifying suitable journals for publication.

On Day 2 of the session, Er. Atul Mahajan, Associate Professor, ECE Department, Amritsar Group of Colleges served as the resource person and delivered an insightful and engaging talk on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various domains through videos, images, and real-world examples.
He began by explaining why emerging AI trends matter, highlighting how AI helps organizations stay competitive and innovative, drives digital transformation, supports economic growth, and creates new career opportunities for students and professionals.
Er. Mahajan discussed several important AI topics, including:
Generative AI, with examples such as ChatGPT, DALL·E, and Midjourney, demonstrating how AI can generate text, images, and creative content.
AI in Cybersecurity, emphasizing its role in threat detection and digital safety.
Edge AI, which enables faster data processing closer to the source.
Multimodal AI, capable of understanding and processing text, images, audio, and video together.
Overall, the session was highly informative and inspiring, providing participants with a clear understanding of how AI is transforming industries and shaping the future across every domain.

*Shahzada Nand College, Amritsar inaugurates Six Days Virtual Faculty Development Programme on “Empowering Educators through Artificial Intelligence”*
First day of the FDP began by seeking the blessings of Lord Krishna Ji. College Principal Dr. Reena Talwar extended a warm welcome to the resource person, Dr. Jatinder Singh Saini and all the participants on the first day of the FDP. On this occasion, a well-qualified and well- versed Professor Dr. Jatinder Singh Saini, Head of Department of CSE, Baba Bhanda Singh Bahadur Engineering College, Fatehgarh Sahib delivered an insightful and comprehensive discourse on the toic *”Usage of Artificial Intelligence”* He told that AI adoption is rapidly entering into personal and professional spheres, transforming the way individuals live, work, and interact with technology.
Highlighting everyday applications, Dr. Saini discussed AI-powered virtual assistants and personal assistants, which support users in scheduling, information retrieval, and task automation.
Principal Dr.Reena Talwar expressed her gratitude to resource person Dr. Saini for his enlightening discourse. She also expressed her gratitude to estmessed president of the college managing committee Mrs.Sushma Mehra and director Mr. Chamanlal.
