The second day of the Two Days National Seminar on “Indianization of Professional Social Work: A Way Forward” at N. S. Patel Arts (Autonomous) College, Anand commenced with renewed enthusiasm and academic vigor. The day began with Plenary Session–III chaired by D. P. Singh, Professor, Department of Social Work, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab focusing on contemporary social issues, indigenous values, ethics, and professional identity. Insightful deliberations were presented by Bigi Thomas, Professor, Department of Social Work Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar and Narendrakumar Vasava, Assistant Professor, Children’s Research University, Gandhinagar highlighting Indianised approaches in mental health and philosophical foundations of social work. The technical sessions that followed provided a vibrant platform for scholars to present research across thematic areas, fostering meaningful academic exchange. The seminar concluded with an inspiring valedictory address by Sunita D. Nambiyar, Dean, Faculty of Social Work, The Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda followed by report presentations by Ms. Anisa Rana, vote of thanks by Mr.Maulin Thakor and certificate distribution, marking a successful culmination of the national seminar.

Day-1 of the Two-Day National Seminar on “Indianization of Professional Social Work: A Way Forward” was successfully inaugurated at N. S. Patel Arts (Autonomous) College, managed by Sardar Patel Education Trust. The day began with participant registration and networking, followed by a dignified inaugural session that set the tone for meaningful academic engagement. The keynote address by Dr. Bishnu Mohan Das from Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, University of Delhi highlighted the relevance of NEP in shaping the Indianization of social work education, while the special lecture by Dr. D. P. Singh of Punjabi University offered a critical civilizational perspective on Western social work frameworks.

The post-lunch sessions enriched scholarly discourse through Plenary Session-I chaired by Dr. Bhavna Mehta, featuring thought-provoking presentations by Dr. Jagdish Jadhav and Prof. (Dr.) Shivani D. Mishra on indigenous knowledge and community-centred practice. Plenary Session-II, chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Magan Parmar of Parul University, further explored curriculum and pedagogical transformation with insightful talks from Dr. Chittaranjan Subudhi of Delhi School of Social Work and Dr. Mithileshkumar Tiwari of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya. The day concluded with vibrant discussions, networking over high tea, and a warm dinner, reflecting the seminar’s commitment to dialogue, collaboration, and advancing culturally grounded social work practice.
