Government Degree College Uttersoo We are a Government College that offers 04 year UG Honours Degrees in Humanities ,Social Science, Science & Computer Applications.

As an Institute of higher learning the Government Degree College Uttersoo was established in April 2008. The College was first housed in Government Higher Secondary School Uttersoo and due to non-availability of infrastructure only Arts stream with limited subjects were taught in the College. The college was shifted to its new campus on 30th April 2018, and Science Stream with four subjects (04) s

ubjects along with Computer Application and various other Arts subjects has also been introduced in the College from the academic session 2018. IN the lap of nature, the new College campus is spread over sixty (60) Kanals of land. The green carpet of paddy fields stretches miles and miles in the backyard The invigorating mountain air, the calm and serenity, the densely clad hills and the snowcapped mountains in the eastern side enhance the beauty of the College campus. The only sound heard in the College campus is that of serenely blowing light wind during evening times and that of the Arpath-Nallah (Arpath River) flowing in the back side of the campus. Besides this, a beautiful stream of pure and blue water flows in front of the College building making it more attractive and aesthetic. Uttersoo is a small hamlet inhabited mainly by agriculturists and orchardists. It is imperative to mention here that Uttersoo is a scenic township located in the lap of pastures and green forests alongside Anantnag-Chatabal road. Uttersoo is approximately twenty-five (25) kilometers away from Anantnag town and seventy-five (75) kilometers from the summer capital Srinagar, and at an elevation of two thousand (2000) meters. The College has grown up in strength and standard and aims to march ahead in the pursuit of excellence. In this regard, the College is expected to introduce some more subjects in both Science & Arts Streams in the forthcoming academic session.
