It was a true privilege to host Dr. Ganesh Namashivayam Pandian, Principal Investigator and Associate Professor (Jr.) at the Institute for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences (WPI-iCeMS), Institute for Advanced Study, Kyoto University, Japan, whose remarkable global experience and insights inspired us to rethink the purpose of academic research. His message strongly resonated—research must go beyond publications and actively contribute to solving real-world challenges aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.
A heartfelt thanks to all organizers, faculty members, and participants who made this event a meaningful success. Together, let’s continue to innovate with purpose and drive change that matters.

World Optometry Day was successfully celebrated on 27th March at Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Arni Campus.
The event inauguration led by esteemed chief guests Joint Registrars Dr. K. Saravanan Sir and Dr. V. Peruvaluzhuthi Sir.
A free eye camp was organized, promoting awareness on vision care on the topic "Early detection life long protection".
The celebrations also featured a vibrant food feast inaugurated by Dr.Saravanan sir , Joint Registrar, Dr. Peruvazhuthi sir , Joint Registrar , Research Deputy Dean Dr. R. Sumathi Mam and Ms. Tharani , HOD I/C - Faculty of Allied Health Sciences.
The food fest was creatively organized and managed by the students of the Optometry Department.
A day filled with learning, service, and celebration! ✨
