The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, IUST, recently invited Mr. Ajaz-ul-Haque, Senior Producer, Educational Multimedia Research Centre, University of Kashmir, to deliver a special lecture on ‘Higher Education: The Higher You Go, The Cooler It is.’

Mr. Ajaz-ul-Haque described higher education as a journey that progresses from “data to information, knowledge, wisdom and finally wonder,” calling these the five milestones of meaningful education. He urged students to seek depth, maturity and grace through learning.

Emphasising the role of critical thinking in the age of technology, he said, machines do not think like humans and warned that people risk becoming machine-like if they stop thinking critically. He said, higher education should ensure technology strengthens, rather than replaces, human reasoning.

The latest episode of Pesh Kadam, titled ‘Beyond Books’ takes us back to the insightful session, and helps us relive the enlightening moments. Let’s tune in.
