Orientation Session on Institutional Scholarship

A scholarship is a form of financial aid awarded to students for education. Generally, scholarships are
awarded based on a set of criteria such as academic merit, diversity and inclusion, athletic skill, and
financial need. The goal of the orientation program was to create student& #39;s familiarity with the
institution& #39;s regulations and academic standards, acquaint the students with their classmates and to
learn about the other institutional members that will help students succeed.
Prof Maya Mathew explained various scholarships offered by the institution like SFS scholarship,
Meritorious Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, Proficiency Scholarship, SSA Scholarship, Sports
Scholarship, and Scholarships for Differently Abled. She also highlighted on the various other
scholarships like International Students Scholarship, Centum Scholarship, Rising Star, Girl Child,
Alumni Sponsored etc
Students were made aware of the various scholarship schemes available, the procedure to apply for
the same, the documentation required and the process involved.
During the session the students were given a rundown of the form, FAQs, the eligibility criteria and
the list of required documents. The session primarily targeted the First Years batch to learn about
various funding avenues as well.
