"VANNI CLUB" is going to organise Robo Race competition on 19 October 2023 at Electrical Engineering Department,MJP Rohilkhand University,Bareilly

Roborace was a competition with autonomously driving, electrically powered vehicles.Founded in 2015 by Denis Sverdlov, it aimed to be the first global championship for autonomous cars. From 2017 to 2019, the official CEO was 2016–17 Formula E champion, Lucas Di Grassi, who later became a member of Roborace’s supervisory board. The series tested their technology and race formats at FIA Formula E Championship events during 2016–2018. In 2019 Roborace organized Season Alpha, which consisted of 4 trial racing events with several independent teams competing against each other for the first time. In 2020–21 Roborace held Season Beta with 7 competing teams. All teams utilized the same chassis and powertrain, but they had to develop their own real-time computing algorithms and artificial intelligence technologies.

eemipru Industrial visit at Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS)

Narora Atomic Power Station (NAPS) is a prominent nuclear power plant located in the Bulandshahr district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Commissioned in the early 1990s, NAPS plays a vital role in India's energy generation landscape. It consists of two pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWRs), each with a capacity of 220 megawatts, making it a significant contributor to the nation's electricity supply. NAPS adheres to stringent safety protocols and has been a reliable source of clean and sustainable energy for decades. The plant not only serves as a testament to India's commitment to nuclear energy but also contributes to reducing the country's carbon footprint by providing a stable source of electricity without greenhouse gas emissions. However, like all nuclear facilities, NAPS operates under strict safety regulations to mitigate potential risks associated with nuclear energy production.

It was a great experience and this kind of visit will definitely help the students to understand various technical aspects and application of subjects’ viz. Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer and Power Plant.

A brief technical details about Rosa Thermal Power Plant that was fully explained at the plant

• Subsidiary of Reliance Power.
• Customer: Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL).
• 4 X 300 MW coal fired units.
• Coal consumption 5.4 MTPA.
• Subcritical boiler.
• 3000 RPM Turbine.
• Efficiency of plant: 35-37 %.
