On the occasion of Engineer's Day, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, organises a series of competitions to support students and provide the opportunity to earn significant experience, demonstrate talents, and reveal personal aptitude (15 September 2022). Students are also encouraged to adopt novel approaches and develop ideas and abilities through these kinds of activities. Engineering Day was held at the university's seminar hall, and students from various departments, including computer science, English, economics, psychology, commerce, and mathematics, participated. Approx 150 students in total took part in the different activities.
Competitions include general awareness quiz, coding quiz, impromptu speaking, and treasure hunt.
The following is the details of winners in various events
1. General Awareness Quiz- Ist Position (Matwal Singh, Manpreet Singh and Sahildeep Singh) 2nd position (Jashanpreet Kaur, Sahibjot Kaur and Kamalpreet Kaur) and 3rd position (Ramanpreet Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur and Tejinder Kaur)
2. Coding Quiz – Ist position (Sahibjot Kaur, Kashish, Lakhveer Kaur and Jaspreet Kaur) 2nd Position (Khushvinder Kaur, Nazam Singh, Bhajanpreet Singh and Mangesh Khode) 3rd Position ( Anju Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur, Tejinder Kaur and Navjot Kaur)
3. Impromptu Speaking- Ist (Sahibjot Kaur), 2nd (Marul Karatia) and 3rd (Navdeep Kaur and Manjinder Kaur)
4. Treasure Hunt- Ist (Nazam,Mangesh,Khushdeep Kaur), 2nd ( Divya, Kalita and Anchal) and 3rd (Ankush, Ankit and Bhajanpreet Singh)
The winning participants received medals and certificates. The Dean Academic Affairs, (Dr.) Maj. Gen G.S. Lamba, and the Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Birbikram Singh, both expressed their appreciation for the student and encouraged them to participate in future competitions. The event's coordinators, Dr. Upinder Kaur, Dr. Pravin Kumar and Dr. Navroop Kaur.
