In this video some of my students at Galgotias University have tried delivering their Elevator. They have not only realised their strengths like Body Language and having good content, they also learnt how their peers aced it under pressure.

Try crafting one for yourself and do not hesitate to share one on my DMs.

The concept originated in business and startup circles, where entrepreneurs had to “sell” their idea quickly to potential investors they might meet by chance.
Today, it’s used more broadly — in job interviews, networking, personal branding, or even academic presentations — whenever you need to make a quick, strong impression.
🎯 Key Idea
An elevator pitch isn’t just about speed — it’s about clarity and memorability.
It answers three silent questions in under a minute:
Who are you?
What do you do or stand for?
Why should I care or remember you?

Why It’s Important
1. Creates a Strong First Impression
Recruiters meet hundreds of students. A sharp, confident introduction helps you stand out instantly.
➡️ It sets the tone: “This candidate knows how to present themselves.”
2. Shows Communication & Clarity
Your elevator pitch reflects how clearly you can think and express.
➡️ Recruiters value clarity, brevity, and confidence — core employability skills.
3. Highlights Your Value Quickly
You get limited time to talk about yourself.
A good pitch summarises:
Your background (education, field)
Your strengths or interests
What makes you different
➡️ Example:
“I’m an engineering student passionate about problem-solving through AI. I recently led a project that reduced data-processing time by 40%, and I’d love to bring that efficiency mindset to your team.”
4. Boosts Confidence in Interviews
When you start strong, you own the room.
An elevator pitch acts as your icebreaker, helping you settle your nerves and guide the conversation forward.
5. Builds Networking & Professional Etiquette
Whether it’s during pre-placement talks, LinkedIn interactions, or alumni meetings, your pitch helps you introduce yourself professionally and memorably.
💡 In short:
“Your elevator pitch is your personal brand — condensed into 60 seconds.”
It tells the recruiter why you matter, even before your resume speaks.

As a teacher, I always believe that we must keep the students in us alive. Never stop learning and adding credentials to your portfolio. In IELTS speaking, pronunciation must never be taught separately but as an integral part of language. With this, I have another feather in my hat!

This time cheers to self-learning
