Celebrating the resounding success of the 9th Annual Sustainability Summit at the School of Sustainability!

The enlightening three-day event featured an Expert Group Discussion on "Respect and Care for Life on Land: Towards Sustainable Mining Practices," unveiling the Miyawaki forest at XIM University Campus by LTIMindtree. Corporate panel discussions delved into "Restructuring the Mining Industry: Shaping the Value Chain with Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy Principles," while the academic panel explored "Measuring Impact & Sustainability Metrics: Role of Research and Academic Community." The summit also hosted a research colloquium, a captivating cultural program, and an insightful field visit to The Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd. (OMC) Daitari Iron Ore Mines and Chromite Mines.

This event is designed to serve as a platform for emerging faculty and candidates pursuing master’s and doctoral courses, enabling them to present scholarly papers aligned with the overarching theme of the Summit.

The focal point of this year's colloquium revolves around the theme: "Respect and Care for Life on Land - Towards Sustainable Mining Practices." The event will encompass various subthemes, including (I) Low-impact mining practices, (II) Mining Waste Reuse, (III) Application of Eco-Friendly Equipment, (IV) Restoring and Rehabilitating, and (V) Preventing Illegal Mining.
