प्राचीन भारत की वैज्ञानिक विरासत आज भी मार्गदर्शक : प्रो. त्रिवेदी
महाराजा गंगासिंह विश्वविद्यालय के सूक्ष्मजीवविज्ञान विभाग द्वारा “प्राचीन भारत में विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी तथा ज्ञान युग में उसकी प्रासंगिकता” विषय पर विस्तार व्याख्यान का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर पूर्व कुलपति एवं बीरबल साहनी पुरस्कार से सम्मानित प्रख्यात शिक्षाविद् प्रो. प्रवीण चाँद त्रिवेदी मुख्य वक्ता के रूप में उपस्थित रहे।
अपने उद्बोधन में प्रो. त्रिवेदी ने कहा कि प्राचीन भारत का विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी अत्यंत व्यापक, गहन एवं प्रेरणादायक रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि भारत की प्राचीन सभ्यता केवल आध्यात्मिक एवं सांस्कृतिक उपलब्धियों तक सीमित नहीं रही, बल्कि उसने विज्ञान और तकनीक के क्षेत्र में भी उच्चतम मानक स्थापित किए। उन्होंने शून्य एवं दशमलव प्रणाली के आविष्कार, ग्रहों की गति की सटीक गणना तथा आयुर्वेद की वैज्ञानिक पद्धतियों का उल्लेख करते हुए कहा कि प्राचीन भारतीय विज्ञान सैद्धांतिक होने के साथ-साथ व्यावहारिक जीवन से भी गहराई से जुड़ा हुआ था। उन्होंने प्राचीन भारतीय ज्ञान-परंपरा की वैज्ञानिकता तथा उसकी वर्तमान समय में प्रासंगिकता को रेखांकित किया।
उन्होंने आगे कहा कि आज का युग ज्ञान-आधारित युग है, जहाँ सूचना, नवाचार और तकनीकी दक्षता विकास की आधारशिला हैं। ऐसे में आवश्यक है कि हम अपनी वैज्ञानिक विरासत का पुनर्मूल्यांकन करते हुए उसे आधुनिक अनुसंधान, शिक्षण एवं नवाचार से जोड़ें। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों एवं शोधार्थियों को प्रेरित करते हुए प्राचीन ज्ञान और आधुनिक विज्ञान के समन्वय के माध्यम से नए शोध आयाम विकसित करने तथा समाजोन्मुख वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण अपनाने का आह्वान किया।
कार्यक्रम के संयोजक डॉ. अभिषेक वशिष्ठ ने अपने उद्बोधन में कहा कि वैदिक एवं उत्तरवैदिक काल से लेकर गुप्त काल तक विकसित वैज्ञानिक परंपरा में गणित, खगोल विज्ञान, आयुर्वेद, धातुकर्म, वास्तुकला एवं जल प्रबंधन जैसे क्षेत्रों में उल्लेखनीय प्रगति हुई। उन्होंने कहा कि भारतीय विज्ञान की अवधारणाएँ—जैसे सतत विकास, पर्यावरणीय संतुलन, समग्र स्वास्थ्य तथा मानव-केंद्रित तकनीक—आज भी उतनी ही प्रासंगिक हैं, जितनी अपने समय में थीं।
इस अवसर पर विज्ञान संकाय के अधिष्ठाता प्रो. अनिल कुमार छंगाणी ने कहा कि भारत की प्राचीन वैज्ञानिक विरासत केवल अतीत की धरोहर नहीं, बल्कि वर्तमान एवं भविष्य के लिए मार्गदर्शक ज्ञान-धारा है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत की वैज्ञानिक परंपरा हमें सिखाती है कि ज्ञान का सर्वोत्तम उपयोग तभी है, जब वह समाज के अंतिम व्यक्ति तक पहुँचे।
कार्यक्रम के अंत में धन्यवाद ज्ञापन डॉ. धर्मेश हरवानी द्वारा किया गया। इस अवसर पर विश्वविद्यालय के विभिन्न विभागों के शिक्षकगण—डॉ. प्रगति सोबती, डॉ. संतोष कंवर शेखावत, डॉ. प्रभुदान चारण, डॉ. लीला कौर, डॉ. ज्योति लखानी, डॉ. फौजा सिंह, श्री अमरेश सिंह—तथा अतिरिक्त कुलसचिव डॉ. बिट्ठल बिस्सा, डॉ. यशवंत गहलोत, डॉ. उमेश शर्मा सहित अतिथि संकाय सदस्य एवं बड़ी संख्या में छात्र-छात्राएँ उपस्थित रहे।

Workshop on the Preservation of Ancient Records Organized in the Department of History

Career Opportunities in History Highlighted at MGSU Workshop

A One-Day Workshop on the importance of preserving archival records was organized by the Department of History at Maharaja Ganga Singh University. The program began with a floral tribute to the idol of Goddess Saraswati. Associate Professor and Head of the Department, Dr. Meghna Sharma, delivered the welcome address and stated that by preserving ancient historical records, we understand our past and determine the direction of our future. She emphasized that protecting records is not merely about safeguarding documents but about preserving our identity, existence, civilization, and cultural knowledge.
The keynote speaker, Mr. Rishiraj Thanvi, Senior Chemist at the Bikaner State Archives, delivered his address through a PowerPoint presentation. He explained that under the acetone lamination method, documents are preserved by placing them between two foils. Old yellowed documents are treated with calcium bicarbonate to ensure their long-term preservation. He further mentioned that tools such as microfilm readers and the MRD2 camera are helpful in document restoration and reproduction. To protect records from termite damage, anti-termite lines are laid around archive buildings. At present, large-scale digitization is underway, and records are being preserved in JPEG format.
Dr. Gopal Vyas, Guest Faculty and Organizing Secretary, conducted the proceedings and described the workshop as supportive and career-oriented for students aspiring to build their future in the field of history. After the main lecture, students raised questions regarding career opportunities. In response, Mr. Thanvi stated that the future of history studies is very promising, offering career options such as Assistant Archivist, Archival Chemist, Research Officer, and Museum Curator. Brochures of the Rajasthan State Archives were also distributed among the students during the workshop.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Guest Faculty member Bhagwan Das Suthar.
The workshop was attended by Guest Faculty members Dr. Mukesh Harsh, Dr. Ritesh Vyas, Dr. Khushal Purohit, Rinku Joshi, Jaspreet Singh, Kiran, and Tejpal Bharti. A total of 90 students participated in the workshop.

एमजीएसयू इतिहास विभाग में हुई वन्देमातरम@150 विषयक निबंध प्रतियोगिता

इतिहास विभाग की निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता में वंदना प्रथम, जयश्री द्वितीय व नरेश तृतीय

महाराजा गंगा सिंह विश्वविद्यालय बीकानेर के इतिहास विभाग द्वारा वन्देमातरम@150 विषय पर निबंध लेखन प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई। आयोजन सचिव अतिथि शिक्षक डॉ. मुकेश हर्ष ने बताया कि यह प्रतियोगिता स्नातकोत्तर के विद्यार्थियों हेतु रखी गई थी जिसमें 44 विद्यार्थियों ने सहभागिता निभाई।
प्रतियोगिता के अंत में इतिहास विभाग की एसोसिएट प्रोफेसर व विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. मेघना शर्मा द्वारा मंच से विजेताओं को प्रमाण पत्र व स्मृति चिन्ह देकर सम्मानित किया गया जिसमें वंदना पुरोहित, जयश्री प्रजापत व नरेश कुमार क्रमशः प्रथम, द्वितीय व तृतीय स्थान पर रहे। सांत्वना पुरस्कार अभिषेक शर्मा को दिया गया।
अध्यक्षीय उद्बोधन में डॉ. मेघना ने कहा कि आज भारत की युवा पीढ़ी जहां विज्ञान, तकनीक और वैश्विक सहभागिता की ओर बढ़ रही है वहीं राष्ट्रगीत वन्देमातरम कर्तव्य, संवेदनशीलता और दायित्व निर्वहन के भाव जाग्रत करता है। इसीलिए युवा पीढ़ी को राष्ट्रप्रेम से जोड़ने हेतु ऐसी प्रतियोगिताओं का विभाग समय समय पर आयोजन करता है।
आयोजन में विभाग के अतिथि शिक्षक जसप्रीत सिंह, रिंकू जोशी, डॉ. गोपाल व्यास, डॉ. रीतेश व्यास, डॉ. खुशाल पुरोहित, भगवान दास सुथार, किरण के साथ साथ तेजपाल भारती का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा।

Basant Panchami Festival and Parakram Diwas Celebrated at MGSU

Youth Should Draw Inspiration from Bose’s Life for Crisis Management: Prof. Akhil Ranjan Garg

The Dean Students’ Welfare Department of Maharaja Ganga Singh University (MGSU), Bikaner organized a special programme on the occasion of Basant Panchami and the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose (Parakram Diwas).
The chief guest, Prof. Akhil Ranjan Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Bikaner Technical University, addressed the gathering and said that today’s youth must learn lessons of crisis management, courage, and decisive leadership from the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. He emphasized that despite extremely adverse circumstances, Bose not only envisioned a free India but also took concrete steps toward independence by raising the Azad Hind Fauj.
Earlier, in her welcome address, Dean Students’ Welfare Dr. Meghna Sharma highlighted the theme of the event and described the basanti (yellow) colour as a symbol of light, purity, energy, and wisdom. She stated that the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) was already present in Netaji’s thoughts, which governments are discussing extensively today.
In his presidential address, Vice-Chancellor Acharya Manoj Dixit referred to the statement of British Prime Minister Clement Attlee, wherein he acknowledged the role of the Azad Hind Fauj as a significant factor behind granting independence to India. He also mentioned the letters written by Subhas Chandra Bose to Mahatma Gandhi, stating that for Bose, freedom meant sacrifice and renunciation. However, he was also a victim of internal opposition and conspiracies. The Vice-Chancellor raised an important question: Has history done complete justice to Netaji?
On this occasion, he announced that a garden would be established in the university campus in the near future in the name of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
During the cultural session, Pandit Rajendra Joshi and his team presented a melodious performance, which included the rendition of the first national anthem sung by the Azad Hind Fauj, accompanied by tabla and sitar.
The programme was conducted and the vote of thanks was presented by Associate Dean Students’ Welfare Dr. Prabhudan Charan. Finance Controller Devendra Singh Rathore was present on the dais.
The event was attended by Prof. Rajaram Choyal, Dr. Jyoti Lakhani, Dr. Anil Kumar Dular, Dr. Gautam Meghvanshi, Dr. Dharmesh Harwani, Dr. Leela Kaur, Dr. Abhishek Vashishtha, Dr. Yashwant Gehlot, Mankeshav Saini, Kamalkant Sharma, along with guest faculty members and students.
