Admission Notification for UG & *PG Programs at Bongaigaon University (UG/PG in Arts & Commerce) and its Science Campus at Birjhora Mahavidyalaya (UG/PG in Science), Bongaigaon, Assam, for the Session 2026-2027. (*A separate notification will be issued shortly for the PG program in science, arts, and commerce).
For the UG Program (FYUGP as per NEP 2020), registration is open now at the Assam State Higher Education SAMARTH Portal website: https://assamadmission.samarth.ac.in.
Aspirant students may now register and create their profile, by filling up their personal details and academic information and uploading required documents (photo, signature, mark sheets, and category certificate). If needed, they may call us at the Phone number given in the flyer.
The admission process shall be carried out in the following two steps:
Step 1: Registration of students on the portal and completion of their profile starting from 11th April, 2026 (4:00 PM onwards).
Step 2: Selection of preferred institutions and programmes by students after the declaration of Class XII results. (Step 1 shall remain open even after the commencement of Step 2.)
Students are encouraged to link their APAAR ID during registration. Those who do not already have an APAAR ID are advised to create the same before registering.

In a landmark development for higher education in Lower Assam, the Government of Assam has officially recognized the prestigious Birjhora Mahavidyalaya (Degree Science College) as a Constituent College of Bongaigaon University. To mark this historic transition, a press conference was held today at 1:00 PM in the college auditorium. The event featured Prof. T.K. Deka, the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Bongaigaon University, as the guest of honour. During an engaging interaction with the media, Prof. Deka shared his inspiring vision for the future of higher education in the Bongaigaon district and surrounding regions. He emphasized that this integration would elevate academic standards and provide students with enhanced opportunities for research and specialized learning. The conference was chaired by Dr. Chinmoy Bhattacharjee, Principal of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya, who reflected on the college’s dedicated journey toward achieving this prestigious status. He expressed his gratitude to the faculty, students, and the state government for their unwavering support in reaching this milestone. Adding to the historical context, Sri T.K. Choudhury, President of the Governing Body (BM), delivered a moving speech detailing the history of the college’s inception and its steady development to reach its current esteemed position. Other notable dignitaries in attendance included: The Director, IQAC, Bongaigaon University, Dr. Banojit Kr. Sarma, Dean, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities, Bongaigaon University and Dr. Pradeep Kr. Goswami, Retd. Prof., Bongaigaon University. The transition of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya into a constituent college is expected to act as a catalyst for academic excellence, further solidifying Bongaigaon’s position as a rising hub for higher education in Assam.

The IQAC and the Debate and Quiz Forum of Birjhora Mahavidyalaya, in collaboration with the SVEEP cell of the District Election Office, Bongaigaon, successfully organised an Inter-College Essay and Quiz competition today. The event focused on the upcoming Assam State Legislative Assembly Election 2026, emphasizing the critical role of youth participation in the democratic process. The inaugural session was chaired by Principal Dr. Chinmoy Bhattacharjee, who welcomed esteemed delegates from the District Administration and Birjhora Kanya Mahavidyalaya. In his address, Dr. Bhattacharjee highlighted the importance of academic institutions in fostering civic responsibility. The competitive segments featured a distinguished panel of judges, including Sri Deepak Sarma (Head Master, Bapuji High School, Abhayapuri) and Dr. Purbajyoti Bhagobati (Assistant Professor, BM). The Quiz competition, a highlight of the day, was conducted by Quiz Master Dr. Pulokesh Das, Assistant Professor from Bongaigaon University, supported by technical leads Ms. Pranjana Niyogi and Mr. Tonmoy Ghosh (Assistant Professors, BM). The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Dilip Kumar Roy, Coordinator, IQAC. Dr. Roy stressed that the enthusiasm shown by the participants reflects a promising future for the state, as new voters prepare to make their voices heard at the polls.
