EXAM UPDATE: Central University of Kashmir

For final semester students, exams will be conducted once the situation allows, no date has been set in place so far.

For other semesters, class work will resume directly without exams once the University begins functioning again. Regarding rumors of mass promotions, the University statutes do not leave any scope for that to happen. Most probably, end semester exams of two semesters will be conducted together.

Since internet access is not available currently, please get the word through to your friends.

Wajid’s 3rd Semester Crowned Champions

5th Semester pound sand, Wajid man of the match, Shahbaz Man of the Series

Nowgam, Madan Khan (Oct 1)- In a blinder of a game here today, Wajid's 3rd semester beat Shahbaz Bhat's 5th semester in the finals of SBA Inter-semester Cricket tournament to be crowned champions.
3rd semester won the toss and decided to bat first. With Junaid getting out for a naught, the batting order fluttered and some two more wickets fell in quick succession. Wajid himself got out early and the team came to a near collapse. Zuhaib pulled 5th semester through with hitting a couple of boundaries without giving in to sledging and thus absorbed all the pressure. He couldn't stay for long too and the wickets started to fell like apples do.

5th semester's tight bowling and neat fielding enabled them to bowl out 3rd semester for just 59 runs in a 12 overs game. With very little score on the board, it could have been a easy victory for 5th semester but that was not going to be the case, thanks to smart strategies applied by 3rd semester team.

Over confidence seemingly got the best of 5th semester, with Jehangir and Shahbaz coming to the crease. Both the openers were dismissed early with a meager score of 7 runs. This decapitated the whole team. The batting line up looked like suffering from urgency to come to the crease and go back quickly.
Wickets kept on felling, runs dried up. And in the last over 5th semester needed 18 runs to win. They failed miserably to get it. And lost by five runs.

It was 3rd semester's day all throughout, and they did it with much dancing and jubilation at the end. The juniors emerged champions with smart strategies and great teamwork.

The tournament ended today with a formal ceremony attended by the governing council of the Students Bar Association. Shahbaz Bhat from 5th was awarded man of the series for a great performance across the tournament. Certificates and medals were awarded to all the performers.
