ABVP Panjab University submitted a memorandum to the university Ragistrar regarding three major demands —

1️⃣ Repair of damaged road near AC Joshi Library
2️⃣ Repair of road near Department of Laws
3️⃣ Repair of internal road near Medical Physics & Nuclear Physics Department (South Campus)

These infrastructural issues are causing inconvenience and safety concerns for students and staff.
ABVP has urged the university to take immediate action to ensure a safe and conducive campus environment.

The rights of Punjabis in Panjab University cannot be taken away and every decision concerning the University must be made with the confidence of its stakeholders, the students and the people of Punjab.

The ongoing Senate reforms must ensure student representation, ABVP reaffirms that Panjab University belongs to Punjab and its students, and their voice must remain central in every reform process.

Standing firm for students’ democratic rights, ABVP delegation met the Secretary, Higher Education, Government of India, demanding the withdrawal of the affidavit rule imposed by Panjab University.

Responding to ABVP’s representation, the University has officially withdrawn the affidavit rule, marking a huge win for students’ voice and campus democracy! 🇮🇳

Affidavit Rule to Be Withdrawn from Panjab University after ABVP Delegation Meets Secretary, Higher Education, Government of India

Panjab University has recently made it mandatory for students to submit a affidavit during admissions for the new academic session.

To ensure the withdrawal of this affidavit and to safeguard students’ democratic rights, a delegation of ABVP met the Secretary, Higher Education, Government of India, in New Delhi. The delegation strongly demanded the immediate cancellation of the affidavit policy.

Following the meeting, the Secretary of Higher Education accepted ABVP’s demand and assured that the affidavit requirement would be withdrawn.
