๐ RAWE: Bridging Science and Society๐พ
Agriculture is not learned through textbooks aloneโit is learned in the fields, among farmers and within rural communities.
Through the RAWE Programme, our B.Sc. Agriculture students immersed themselves in agricultural activities within their own villages, gaining practical exposure to farming systems, government initiatives, extension activities and agri-based enterprises.
โจ Highlights of the Experience:
๐จโ๐พ Interacted directly with farmers and farming communities
๐ฑ Observed and participated in real-time agricultural practices
๐ Engaged with Digital Crop Survey (DCS) and agricultural department activities
๐ Attended and supported training and awareness programmes
๐ข Connected with agricultural officers, extension personnel and agri-enterprises
๐ค Developed communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
๐ Students can study subjects such as Pathology, Entomology, Agronomy and other agricultural sciences within the classroom. However, it is Agricultural Extension Education that bridges scientific knowledge with people, communities and real-world agricultural practice. Extension Education takes students beyond theory and helps them understand how agricultural innovations reach farmers and create impact on the ground.
๐ RAWE is often the first major exposure of agriculture students to the outside world. It is a transformative learning platform where students learn from farmers, understand rural realities, build professional confidence and prepare themselves for future careers in agriculture and rural development.
๐ Learning from the field. Learning from the people. Learning for the future.
