Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore hosted Mr. Sri Srinivasa, Program Management Leader at Tesla, for a virtual colloquium session on August 3, 2024. He shared insights on “Enhancing Business Outcomes through Generative AI in Supply Chain Management.”
Mr. Srinivasa emphasized the importance of precise prompts for GenAI to extract and analyze data. He emphasized on staying updated, expanding horizons, and considering diverse perspectives. During the Q&A, he discussed the need for extensive data collection and creating tailored AI models to protect data from open-source GenAI.

Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore hosted Research talk series #5 on 02 August 2024. Dr. Meghna Verma from Ramaiah Institute of Management, Bengaluru was the invited speaker. She emphasized the importance of integrating sustainability into business education to address global challenges and meet Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dr. Verma analyzed current marketing practices that promote unnecessary consumption and advocated for responsible marketing focused on essential and sustainable products. She also highlighted the value of blending global sustainability practices with traditional Indian practices. The session included interactive components where faculty members shared their expertise, fostering a collaborative discussion on sustainability in research. Dr. Verma encouraged participants to take individual and collective actions towards sustainability, underscoring that small changes can have significant impacts. The talk aimed to motivate faculty and students to incorporate sustainability into their research and teaching, reinforcing the importance of sustainable development in business education.

The ASB INNOVAC committee, organized the first INNOVAC session for the AY 2024 - 25 on July 24, 2024. Abhilash Ravikumar (II MBA Student) as a senior student mentor taught statistics for I year MBA students. This initiative aimed to enhance the academic skills of future managers by providing them with a deeper understanding of statistical concepts and their practical applications. Through this session, the committee members shared their expertise and facilitated a collaborative learning environment, reinforcing the importance of statistical knowledge in business and research contexts.

Amrita School of Business - Coimbatore had the privilege of hosting Rajesh Buch, PhD, MBA (Business Development Director, Rob and Melani Walton, Sustainability Solutions Service) and Rimjhim Aggarwal (Dean, School of Sustainability) from Arizona State University for an insightful session on "Designing Ethical Circular Economies: Integrating Learnings from Research, Teaching, and Practice" on 18 July 2024. The experts shared the importance of public universities advancing public value and inclusivity; Innovation driven by values and purpose, fostering responsible societal benefits; Collective agency and transformation, highlighting collaboration; Practical insights from the Transformation Lab and a case study on waste management.

ASB MBA students, research scholars, and faculty members gained insights from this session. Gratitude to Nava Subramaniam (Dean, ASB); and Nitesh Pandey (Assistant Professor) for hosting the event.

At the tenth colloquium of the 2023–24 academic year, ASB Colloquia Team had the privilege of hosting Mr. Prashant Agarwal, a distinguished Marketing Consultant, who shared invaluable insights into the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in marketing. Mr. Agarwal introduced AI, tracing its evolution and underscoring its pivotal role in predicting and personalizing customer journeys.

He emphasized the profound impact of generative AI, particularly its ability to streamline the customer journey and deliver personalized experiences at every touchpoint. Additionally, Mr. Agarwal demonstrated how AI can simplify content creation, enhancing both the effectiveness and personalization of marketing efforts. The session offered a compelling glimpse into how AI has the potential to revolutionize marketing strategies, making them more efficient and customer-centric.

We are grateful for Prashant Agarwal expertise and for the eye-opening discussion on the future of AI in marketing.

Amrita School of Business - Coimbatore Dean Dr. Nava Subramaniam along with Prof. Ruth Rentschler and Dr. Boram Lee, Senior Lecturer of the University of South Australia Business have been awarded the Bronze prize for the Event Management Cutting Edge Research Award for their publication in the journal Event Management in 2023. The journal is a niche journal in the festivals and events management, and ranked A in the ABDC journal.
