Amidst all the confusions about which college to choose between similar looking ones, here we have a sneak-peek of what exactly is inside the world of National Law University Odisha. So, let’s begin:
1. CAMPUS:
• The college is located at CDA Sector 13 in the Millennium city of Cuttack. It’s technically inside the city but for better understanding, the main city is 8 KMs away.
• There a daily free bus trip from the campus to the heart of the city (Mon-Sat) and to Bhubaneshwar on Sundays.
• Coming to the campus, it covers an area of 49 Acres in total which is much larger than many NLUs.
• There are two Boys Hostels and two Girls Hostels (GH-2 is on its completion) with 60+ rooms on each floor. You are provided with all the required furniture such as A bed, Table, Chair, Cupboard, Bookshelf etc. The administration tries its best that every year students get single occupancy.
• Bathrooms are equipped with Geysers and proper RO water-coolers are installed on every corner of a floor.
• TV rooms, GYM and 4 Shops are also within the campus to ensure that the students’ needs are fulfilled.
• The amphitheatre of NLUO can house the entire college at once and is functional during special fests and programs.
• The Academic Block house different lecture halls, seminar hall, committee halls and the library which is divided into 3 sections i.e. The E-Brary which has computers for research and work, The Journal section which houses all the important Journal and Magazines and lastly the main library which consists of all the important books and remains open till 3 AM (Mon-Sat) and till 5PM on Sundays.
• Along with this, NLUO gives you the access to the best E-Journals and Research Databases which are one of the largest in number when compared to many NLUs.
• Moreover the administration is trying its best to complete the new library which will be ASIA’S LARGEST LAW LIBRARY.
2. Sports:
• There is a dedicated sports complex which houses two Basketball courts, a volleyball court and a tennis court. Badminton courts and table tennis arenas are present inside the hostels.
• There’s also a full-length cricket ground and A new football field is under-construction too.
3. Mooting Culture:
• This can be said as the Deal-Maker feature of NLUO. The Mooting Society and culture that we develop within the campus regarding the moots is nearly the best among all the NLUs. This gets its validation when we enlist our latest mooting achievements:
• NLUO was the Winner of NUJS HSF Corporate Law Moot Court competition in 2019.
• Awarded the citation of "Best Respondent Memorial" at the prestigious XII NLS-Trilegal International Arbitration Moot, 2019. The team was also adjudged as Quarter-Finalist in the competition.
• AIAC Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot, Malaysia where the team was adjudged quarter finalists (top 8) among 93 participating teams from around the world and received Honourable Citation for Best Respondent Memorandum and Honourable Citation for Best Claimant Memorandum.
• We were the Octa-Finalists in the World Rounds of Oxford Price Media law moot in 2019 and Runners-up of the South Asian Rounds and Octa-Finalists again at the World Rounds in 2018.

Also, the 2019 team won “Alone E Evans Award for the Best-Combined Memo”, this is something which only 5-6 universities have received in India.
• We also organise the annual Bose & Mitra International Maritime law Arbitration Moot (IMAM)
• There are many more mooting achievements apart from these.
4. Committees:
• There are more than 20 committees and centres for the holistic development of an individual. What makes them unique is that they all are active and work to the core of their potential.
• Another valuable addition to NLUO in 2019 is the introduction of the STUDENT BODY ASSOCIATION (SBA) which made the voice of the future lawyers even more powerful.
5. Fests and Co-Curricular Activities:
• NLUO organises various Sports and Cultural Fests within the university known as HUNAR, KAIRAAN and VIRAJ.
• KAIRAAN and VIRAJ are the Inter-University fest whereas HUNAR is Intra-university.
• We also support the students in going out for attending different fests as this ensures them that they are opened to the world.
