Industrial Visit to NETRAM Command & Control Centre – Dahod Police 🚔

Students of the Electronics & Communication Department, Government Engineering College Dahod, visited the NETRAM Command and Control Centre under Dahod Police Department to experience how modern technology supports crime prevention and law enforcement. Students observed wireless communication equipment, special security frequency bands, and the use of drone surveillance systems used by the police in critical situations.

The visit helped students understand the discipline, coordination, and technological infrastructure involved in maintaining law and order. Police officials also interacted with students and explained career opportunities such as Wireless PSI in the Gujarat Government and the important role of Electronics & Communication engineers in communication and surveillance systems.
The visit was organized as a PBL activity to provide students with real-world exposure related to their academic subjects. The activity was planned by the subject teacher with the approval of the Head of the Department and the Principal of Government Engineering College, Dahod. Final permission for conducting the visit was granted by the Superintendent of Police (SP) Office, Dahod.
We sincerely express our vote of thanks to Dahod Police officials for granting permission and providing valuable guidance during the visit.

It was a very insightful experience where students witnessed how technology plays a vital role in public safety and security.

🌟 Learning Beyond Classroom – Visit to BWC Radio Station, Dahod

🎓 Sem-4 E.C. Dept., GEC Dahod

Today’s visit to the Blind Welfare Council (BWC) Community Radio Station, Dahod (90.8 MHz) was highly informative and meaningful.

🎙️ Students observed the actual FM wireless communication system, including the live studio setup, transmission chain, and key broadcasting components. This exposure helped them connect fundamental concepts of **Analog Communication / Principles of Communication** with real-world wireless transmission systems. It was truly a *learning-by-observing* experience that strengthened classroom theories through practical application.

❤️ Beyond technical learning, students also witnessed the humanitarian mission of BWC. They understood the organization’s dedicated social services, including its institute and school for children with intellectual disabilities. The BWC Community Radio Station actively spreads awareness about social needs, along with regular broadcasts and recorded sessions on health, education, and notable achievements of the Dahod region.

✨ The school’s efforts to enhance the abilities and confidence of these children reflect a spirit of selfless service—bringing happiness and dignity that is truly priceless.

Overall, the visit was both technically enriching and socially inspiring.

📌 The visit was organized as part of the PBL curricular activity by Prof. S. N. Damor and Prof. A. B. Vaghela, with the permission and approval of the Head of the EC Department and the Principal, Government Engineering College, Dahod.

🤝 The program was successfully coordinated in collaboration with Mr. Yusufi F. Kapadiya, Founder & Managing Trustee (who himself is visually impaired), and Mr. Abbas J. Kharodawala, Administrative Officer & Lecturer, Blind Welfare Council Organisation, Dahod.
