Along with the infrastructural upgradation of the laboratories, workshops have been organised on various topics such as Analytical chemistry , Genomics etc. Eminent scientists from various fields were invited to deliver lectures on topics like ‘Forensic sciences’; ‘Drug discovery and commercialization’; ‘Plant Biotechnology’; ‘Bioenergy and Bioplastics’; Fabrication of superconducting films’ ‘Radiation Injuries and Recent updates on Development of Medical Bioshields from Himalayan plants’ etc. Also, educational trips of students are organized time to time for better grasp on the subjects. Last Year , an excursion to CIMAP (CSIR Institute of Medicinal & Aromatic plants), Lucknow was conducted to increase the exposure to various medicinal plants, their processing and medicines released in the market by R&D department. In 2016 , An interdisciplinary trip (organized by all departments under DBT-star College Project) was organised to visit Bani School, a Govt. School in Himachal Pradesh and a 3-day Innovation Camp was organized where lectures were delivered by Prof. Rup Lal, Prof. Om Prakash Sharma, Miss Kalpana along with students and by other members of the team to ignite young minds. In addition practical exercises, quizzes, debates and question answer sessions were organized to encourage them.
