Department of Geography, Shivaji College D.U. Accredited By NAAC 'A' grade The study of Geography began as soon as the earliest human beings tried to make sense of the world around them.

However, the subject matter of geography has changed significantly over time, as have the methods used by geographers to study it. Intellectual inquiry in geography often transcends disciplinary boundaries, giving the subject a unique and interesting character. There are only a handful of colleges in the University of Delhi that offer an undergraduate course in geography and Shivaji College is amo

ng those few. The Department of Geography in Shivaji College started in the late 1970s although it was more than a decade later that it began to offer an honours course. The department has grown rapidly since then and has seen an increase in the strength of its faculty and number of students.
