Dear Friends,
Greetings from NAPSWI.
We are passing through an uncertain period caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Like others,
students are also one of the affected parties. As we know, the students of social work have to
undergo rigorous Fieldwork practicum and classroom learning along with many other learning
pedagogies such as orientation programme, agency visit, concurrent field practicum,
workshops, rural camps, group work, and others. The entire teaching-learning process has
come to a standstill at the moment, the placements and employment are marred.
There are many webinars for academic purposes, knowledge sharing, capacity building but
there is hardly any dedicated programme for confidence building especially for the students of
social work who are passing through uncertainties and other psychosocial issues.
Since this pandemic has put several questions before the student community, NAPSWI has
planned to organise an online interactive series for the students and termed it as NAPSWI
WEBISODES for Social Work Students. This series of Webisodes is primarily intended to
highlight the students’ issues, concerns and challenges amidst and post COVID-19 in general
and social work students in particular. We intend to bring out the possible answers to the
student’s queries.
NAPSWI WEBISODES for Social Work Students will be held between 5th August to 12th of
August, 2020. As its maiden effort to address the issues and concerns of students and young
professionals, we will bring the social work educators, practitioners, and employers on one
platform. The episodes will be 60 to 90 minutes on a video conferencing platform. The series
will cover personal and professional queries on one hand and it will develop the problem-solving
skills, knowledge, motivation, and informative dialogue on the other. These webisodes are organized by the students and we invite you to participate in this. This would be an opportunity
to seek answers to your query, issue, or concerns directly.
If you are interested to participate, then, please write to us [email protected]
Please mention your name, course, institution, and YOUR Query. We will include your questions
in the programme and also arrange best-suited experts for your queries. Please send your
questions to be included in the programme in the enclosed form.
Awaiting your response and participation.
Best wishes

The Union in solidarity with students of the department expresses its resentment over the decision of the university to conduct exams in the midst of the global Covid-19 crisis.
On 11/05/2020 the University issued a circular inviting suggestions regarding the future course of action regarding the examinations. On 14/05/2020 the University issues another circular declaring the date and mannerism of the exams, without conducting any meeting with the Principals of colleges, Head of Departments of departments, faculty and student bodies.
Teachers, students and other associations have since long expressed their concerns regarding the online mode of education and examination which are highly discriminatory in nature towards students who do not have access to technology, good internet connection or a conducive environment at their current place of residence. Further, the decision puts an additional burden of stress on the students who are already anxious looking at the uncertainties the future holds for them.
The Union hereby expresses its concern towards the administrative apathy of the University that seems to prioritise a display of administrative excellence over the future and well being of its students, deviating from the essence of an examination.
