The sinking ship!!!

Since Netaji Subhas University of Technology is a premier Technological Institute of Govt. of NCT of Delhi, Up-gradation to University status will result in considerable increase in the intake of students at UG, PG and Ph.D. levels over a period of time (approx. 12,000 students on the campus as against strength of around 3500 at present).

• This will, therefore, provide increase in opportunity to Delhi based students who other wise would have to seek avenues outside the Delhi State.
• Granting State University status to NSIT will result in full and efficient utilization of the excellent infrastructure facilities and the big campus available to the Institute.

• Granting the State University status to the NSIT shall be in consonance with the spirit of recommendation of the National Knowledge Commission (NKC), which has emphasized creation of synergy between Education and Research in the higher Technical Education Institutions.

• The growth of NSIT and its further expansion will result in the creation of a much larger pool of competent faculty, professional engineers and researchers which will result in achieving excellence and would make a significant contribution towards making Delhi the `Technological Capital‟ of India.

Manish Dabas, computer engineering student from NSIT and Project Head, International Relations at BRICS International Forum represented India in 5th Euro-BRICS Conference and Euro BRICS Young Leaders Summit in Finland and Russia.

The event brought together youth delegations from the European Union, Brazil, China, India, South Africa, Russia and the candidate countries for accession to the EU & partner countries.

In addition to youth leaders, diplomatic session were attended by members of parliament and ministries of Europe and BRICS.
Diplomatic session consisted of seven sections, which were run in parallel: Democracy, Peace, Mobility, Contemporary, Sustainability, Innovation and Multiculturalism.
General goals of the Summit were findings of the presentations and discussions on these topics that provided the input for strategic recommendations to be forwarded to G20, BRICS and European decision makers and representatives.

After the business program in Finland, the delegates visited St. Petersburg in the framework of the year of Russia's presidency in BRICS.
In the northern capital, Europe and BRICS representatives met with the Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko, visited city administration and took part in a roundtable in St. Petersburg State University.
