A campus placement drive was held at Digboi College (Autonomous) on June 9, 2025, with Bajaj Allianz as the recruiter. Fifteen of our recent graduates secured placements with an attractive annual salary package of ₹3,50,000. Thirteen of these students are from the Department of Commerce. This achievement is a significant milestone for Digboi College (Autonomous), as companies typically do not visit rural colleges like ours for recruiting general degree students. Most recruiters limit their placement drives to Guwahati. Breaking this tradition, Bajaj Allianz agreed to conduct an open campus drive at Digboi College. They were highly impressed with our students and expressed interest in continued collaboration in the near future. I personally extend my heartfelt gratitude to Bajaj Allianz, and especially to the recruiters, for their effort in traveling to Digboi. The placement drive was organised jointly by Department of Commerce, Digboi College (Autonomous) and Career Planning and placement Cell. The department is optimistic and committed to bringing more companies to Digboi College (Autonomous) for future campus drives.

Respected Researchers! The Department of Commerce, Digboi College is going to organise a "One Week National Workshop on Application of Statistics in Social Science Research" from 18-23rd Nov., 2024. The workshop is aimed at imparting knowledge on use of statistics for quality research in the field of social sciences. The focus will be on parametric research with use of analytical softwares like SPSS. I would request participants who would like to join the workshop to fill-up the google form at the earliest.
