NIT Nagaland National Institute of Technology, Nagaland was set up by the Government of India in 2009, as part of That year Government opened 10 new NITs in all over India.

National Institute of Technology, Nagaland was set up by the Government of India in 2009, as part of the of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2007–2012) for imparting technical education in the state of Nagaland. The Mentoring responsibility of our NIT Nagaland was given to NIT Silchar. The first Batch of NIT Nagaland (2010-2014) studied at NIT Silchar for two years and finally the NIT Nagaland was shi

There is a small reservation for students not belonging to NE but studying in Institutes of National Importance ,located in NE.
