We aim to bring out the best students from institutes in this growing field as well. TCS Talent Acquisition Team (TAG) in association with Assurance Services Unit (ASU) introduced TESTimony – a TCS Software Assurance Contest across TCS accredited institutes in India. This year will be the 4th edition after three successful editions, giving an opportunity to students to learn and dive into the world of Assurance.

TESTimony provides students with a platform to enhance their knowledge in software testing as well as reward them for exhibiting exemplary talent in Automation testing, Performance testing, Performance Engineering, Test Management, Digital Assurance and other Software Quality related topics.

It is more than a contest. It is a unique opportunity to learn, explore the world of testing as well as showcase one’s talent and earn peer recognition and honor.

For Steet Theater/ Mime challenge on the theme "Road Safety", students need to share their Street Theater or Mime performance as a video link on mail id- [email protected]. Again, Pls upload this video on Youtube as an "Unlisted video" and share the link on the mentioned mail ID on or before 13-March-2017 Monday 3 pm. This is a team based event and the minimum participant count needs to be 8 and more in a team.

An Ethical Hacking contest from TCS – Enterprise Security and Risk Management Unit

Introduction

The need for more effective information security practices is increasingly evident with the rise in number and complexity of the security breaches today. Ethical hacking skills help information security professionals implement the strongest possible security practices. It’s as much about finding and fixing security vulnerabilities as it is anticipating them. Through this contest, TCS ESRM is looking for students who have a flair for ethical hacking and are potential future cyber security researchers.

The Contest

An online portal will throw a set of challenges to the registered participants which they are required to crack to move on. Each challenge would evaluate their hacking skills and their competence in finding vulnerabilities. Selected participants would then move for a face to face technical interview round on cyber security.

Participation

The contest is open to the 2017 batch engineering students (BTech/MTech/BCA/MCA) from all the relevant institutes in India.
Disciplines
The contest is for students from Computer Science, IT and Circuit Branches namely Electronics and Electrical Engineering (EEE), Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, Electronics, Electronics & Instrumentation and Instrumentation. Candidates trained in Security domains as listed below would be given preference:
- Application Security
- Network Security
- Java/J2EE, PHP
- Identity and access management
- Access Control
- Information security and risk management
- Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Ethical hacking
- Any Security specific certification like Security+, CEH, ISO 27001, etc.

Winners Declaration:

Up to 10 candidates who clear the round 2 will be declared as winners of the contest and will receive Offer Letters for a job /position in TCS’ cyber security team subject to fulfilling the applicable terms and conditions that govern the process. Few Amazon Kindles will also be rewarded to the deserving candidates who perform well in round 2.

Student X - Who can be in it?

The contest is open to students from batches of 2017, 2018, 2019 from all the relevant institutes in India. Students will need to Register on TCS Campus Commune Portal for taking part in the contest. Each team should have 3 members.

Student X- Till when can I register?

The last date for team registration on Campus Commune is 23 Nov 2016.Select a theme and submit the details on features, novelty and how the application affects the stakeholders. Top 10 teams will be short-listed based on this round, across all zones, which will move to the Final Round.

Student X- How does it help me and what do I win?

Top 2 teams will be selected for the Winner Awards(Winner :INR 20K, Runner :INR. 10K)
All members of the winning teams at the Grand Finale will have an opportunity of an internship with the TCS Open Source Group and/or Environmental Sustainability, Health & Safety (ESHS) team. There would also be special awards from Liferay including the goodie bag and Kindles.
