Publication Excellence at Malabar Dental College.
The OMR Academic Forum and Institutional Research Committee organized an academic session titled “Treat, Publish, Present, Inspire: Publication Excellence at Malabar Dental College” on 18 June 2026 at the Mini Auditorium.
The session aimed to enhance awareness regarding scientific publication, research presentation, and the journey from clinical case documentation to publication in high-impact journals. The resource person, Prof. Dr. Deepak Daryani, delivered an insightful lecture on “From Case Report to Q1 Journal: The Back-to-Back Publication Journey of a Rare Orofacial Pain Case.”
The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Asaf Aboobakker, Head of the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology, and was felicitated by Prof. Sudha S, Principal.
During the session, Dr. Deepak Daryani explained the process of transforming a clinical case into a high-quality scientific publication, highlighting the identification of novel cases, scientific documentation, manuscript preparation, journal selection, and publication in reputed Q1 journals.
The program witnessed active participation from postgraduate students, staff members, and interns. The interactive session encouraged participants to strengthen their research skills and pursue quality scientific publications.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Jiji V. Unni, Senior Lecturer, Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology.
Overall, the program was highly informative and contributed significantly to promoting academic excellence and research culture within the institution.
