INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY
Date:12/05/2026
Every year on 12 May we celebrate International Nurses Day. This day honours the immeasurable contributions that nurses make to society-their compassion, courage, and unwavering commitment to healing.

This year,Sikkim Professional College of Nursing chose to celebrate this special occasion in a truly memorable way. Rather than a conventional indoor programme, the college organised a vibrant outdoor picnic that brought together students and faculty in a relaxed, joyful environment

The event was held in a scenic outdoor at Saramsa Garden,Ranipool, carefully selected to provide ample space for various activities, refreshments, and relaxed socialising. The morning greeted participants with pleasant weather, and the natural surroundings added to the sense of freshness and freedom that the day promised.

Faculty members and students arrived with enthusiasm. Cheerful music played in the background instantly setting a festive mood.
The simplicity of the picnic setting spread on open grounds with mats,laughter-filled clusters of people and itself was symbolic that nursing is at its core a humble, human profession, and the celebration honoured that spirit beautifully.

Beyond commemorating a date on the calendar, the event sought to rejuvenate the enthusiasm of both students and teachers , reminding them of the profession's simplest yet greatest lesson to care for patients and for one another
