The Department of Sociology proudly participated in the Ramailo Sukhim Cultural Rally under the theme “Unity in Diversity: Thriving in Modern India.” Through vibrant cultural representation, traditional attire, and enthusiastic participation, the department beautifully reflected the essence of India’s rich diversity and shared heritage.

The Department of Sociology, Sikkim University, successfully conducted the PhD Pre-Submission Seminar of Mr. Amit Khawas on 27th March 2026.

He presented his research on 'Parental substance abuse and adolescent well-being in the hill districts of West Bengal', under the supervision of Professor Swati A. Sachdeva.

The session was engaging and insightful, with valuable feedback from faculty and scholars.
