“Sanskrit Samhita Sangam-A Hands-on Workshop” concluded on a highly engaging and intellectually enriching note, fostering a deeper appreciation for Sanskrit and its applied relevance in Ayurveda. Organised by the Alankriti Cell, FIMS, SGT University, the event provided a dynamic platform for experiential and interactive learning.
The workshop featured captivating sessions by esteemed experts from the Samskrit Promotion Foundation (SPF), an organization dedicated to revitalizing Sanskrit through innovative and application-oriented approaches. The sessions seamlessly integrated traditional textual wisdom with modern pedagogy, keeping participants actively involved.
A major highlight was the presence of Dr. Chand Kiran Saluja, Director, SPF, a distinguished Sanskrit scholar and recipient of the President’s Certificate of Honour for Sanskrit (2019). His insightful address emphasized the transformation of Sanskrit learning through communicative methods and its integration with contemporary disciplines like Ayurveda.
The academic rigor of the workshop was further strengthened by Sh. Laxmi Narsimhan, Executive Officer, SPF, and Sh. Ganamoorthi, Senior Research Fellow and faculty at SPF. Their hands-on training sessions enabled participants to engage directly with Samhita texts, enhancing both linguistic skills and conceptual understanding.
Participants appreciated the practical and immersive format, which encouraged active learning beyond conventional lectures. The workshop effectively highlighted Sanskrit as a living, functional language essential for deeper comprehension of classical Ayurvedic texts.

The Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana and the Department of Roganidana
Evam Vikriti Vijnana, organized an educational visit to the All India Institute of Ayurveda to
enhance students’ practical knowledge. The visit began with departure from SGT University
at 9:00 AM, followed by an orientation session at AIIA. Students visited key facilities
including OPD, IPD, Panchakarma units, and diagnostic laboratories. The visit to the
diagnostic laboratory offered valuable insight into the application of diagnostic techniques,
enhancing understanding of disease assessment. The programme included sessions in the
pharmacy unit focusing on churna and tablet preparation. Experts explained each step of
the manufacturing process in detail, including raw material processing, formulation
techniques, and quality control measures. The visit concluded with feedback, group
interaction with AIIA experts and group photo. Overall, the programme was highly
informative and helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical
application, motivating students toward academic and professional excellence in Ayurveda.

Sanskrit Samhita Sangam- Day 1

Day 1 of the Sanskrit Samhita Sangam, 2 Days Hands-on Workshop, organized by the Alankriti Cell,
Faculty of Indian Medical System, SGT University, unfolded with great enthusiasm and scholarly
spirit. The day began with a serene Vandana and ceremonial lamp lighting, invoking knowledge and
wisdom, followed by a warm welcome address by Dean, FIMS.
We were deeply honored by the gracious presence and inspiring presidential address of our esteemed
Guest of Honour, Dr. Chand Kiran Saluja Sir, Director, Sanskrit Promotion Foundation, whose
powerful words beautifully emphasized the indispensable role of Sanskrit in truly understanding
Ayurvedic Samhitas. His address left the audience inspired and intellectually enriched.
The academic sessions were conducted by Dr. Chand Kiran Saluja sir along with our eminent
resource persons from the Sanskrit Promotion Foundation
Shri Lakshmi Narasimhan, Executive Officer, and
Shri Ganamoorthi , Senior Research Fellow & Faculty.
The first session on “Decoding Samhita through samskrit grammar” offered deep insights into the
linguistic foundation of classical texts, making complex concepts accessible and engaging. The post-
lunch hands-on session on Ashtang Hridaya (Sutra Sthana-1) provided a practical learning
experience, encouraging active participation and deeper understanding among the students. The day
was marked by enthusiastic involvement, meaningful discussions, and a renewed appreciation for our
classical heritage.
Day 1 was not just about learning—it was about reconnecting with the roots of Ayurveda through the
language of Sanskrit.

SGT University Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS) Honors Noble Act of Body Donation through Cadaver Receiving Ceremony
The Faculty of Indian Medical System (FIMS) at SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana organized a solemn Cadaver Receiving Ceremony on 17th February 2026 to honor the selfless act of body donation, regarded as Mahadaan, one of the highest forms of charity. The event was graced by Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Atul Nasa, and Dean, FIMS; Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Sharma, Associate Dean, FIMS; Dr. Vidyavati V. Hiremath; and Medical Superintendent, SGT Ayurveda Hospital, Dr. Praveen Yadav, along with faculty, staff, and students. A cadaver was received with deep reverence from Shri Krishna AYUSH University, marking a significant contribution to medical education and humanity.
The ceremony commenced with traditional rituals and ceremonial pooja led by Mr. Vyas, Assistant Professor, invoking sanctity and reverence. Dr. Abhilasha Bhardwaj, Assistant Professor, Department of Rachna Sharir, coordinated the event with support from Dr. Jagjeet Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Rachna Sharir ensuring all proceedings were conducted with dignity and solemnity. Addressing the gathering, the Dean emphasized that in medical education, the cadaver is the Adya Guru—the first teacher—guiding students in understanding the intricacies of the human body. Prof. (Dr.) Atul Nasa highlighted that body donation reflects the highest ideals of service and humanity.
The Cadaveric Oath was administered by Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Sharma, after which faculty and students collectively pledged to uphold respect, gratitude, and ethical responsibility toward the cadaver and the medical profession. The ceremony also celebrated India’s rich medical heritage, recalling Sushrut, the Father of Surgery, who emphasized the importance of cadaveric dissection.
A solemn moment of silence was observed to honor the donor and their family, followed by floral tributes from all dignitaries, faculty, and students, symbolizing collective respect and gratitude. Through this event, FIMS reaffirmed its commitment to compassion, ethical practice, and academic excellence, honoring the spirit of Mahadaan and the enduring legacy of medical learning.

The Parent–Teacher Meeting held on 14th February 2026 proved to be a constructive and meaningful initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between parents and the institution. The discussions primarily focused on student attendance and academic performance in all Internal Examinations up to PA-III of the 3rd Term. Faculty members provided transparent and individualized feedback, enabling parents to clearly understand their ward’s strengths as well as areas requiring improvement.

The interaction fostered a sense of shared responsibility, with parents acknowledging the importance of regular attendance, disciplined study habits, and continuous academic monitoring. The Dean and Associate Dean emphasized that consistent attendance and sustained academic efforts are crucial for success in university examinations and professional growth. Parents who attended the meeting expressed their commitment to supporting their children more actively and ensuring better regularity and performance.

Although some parents were unable to attend due to unavoidable constraints, efforts were initiated to communicate with them and share relevant academic updates. Overall, the PTM reinforced the importance of open communication, timely intervention, and collective efforts in enhancing student outcomes. Continued mentoring, remedial measures, and parental engagement will further contribute to the holistic academic development and success of the students.

On the occasion of Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the Department of Prasuti Ta**ra Evum Stree Roga, FIMS, SGT University, organized a Women Health Awareness and Free Health Check-up Camp on 31 January 2026 at Sakatpur Village. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and early detection of cervical cancer among rural women.

An informative awareness lecture on cervical cancer prevention was delivered by Dr. Himani Gupta, Associate Professor, who emphasized early screening, HPV vaccination, and recognition of warning symptoms. Dr. Seema Yadav, Assistant Professor, guided village women regarding menstrual hygiene, prevention of anemia, and the importance of balanced nutrition.

During the camp, doctors conducted free blood pressure, blood sugar, and general health check-ups. Women received personalized counselling, medical advice, and free medicines as required. The camp witnessed active participation from the local community and successfully enhanced awareness about women’s health and preventive gynecological care.

The program reflected the department’s commitment to community outreach and women’s health empowerment.

A guest lecture "Clinical Case Series In Stree Roga" was successfully organized by the Department of Prasuti Ta**ra Evum Stree Roga in collaboration with the Gyanamrita Club on 4 February 2026. The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Himani, Associate Professor, PTSR, and Dr. Kanchan Malhotra, Assistant Professor, PTSR.
Dr. Jyoti Kumbar, Professor and Head, Department of PTSR, formally honoured the guest speaker Dr. Suniti, , Professor, Institute of Ayurveda Studies and Research, SKAU, Kurukshetra by presenting a sapling as a mark of respect. Dr. Jyoti also motivated the students to focus on developing strong clinical skills and emphasized the importance of hands-on learning in becoming successful practitioners.
Dr. Suniti delivered an insightful lecture on clinical success stories with evidence in various gynecological cases, effectively bridging theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experience. She inspired students to cultivate enthusiasm for learning, continuous knowledge enhancement, and ethical practice.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Seema, Assistant Professor, Department of PTSR. The lecture was highly enriching and well appreciated by both students and faculty.

A Guest lecture on the topic “Clinical Utility of Prakriti Parikshan – An Ayurvedic Diagnostic Tool” was successfully organized by Kriya Sharir Department in Collaboration with Gyanamrit association on 30th January 2025 for the students of BAMS 1st Professional as part of the institution’s ongoing academic enrichment initiatives. The session was conducted from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The program commenced with a formal welcome address and introduction of the esteemed resource person, Dr. Manisha Khatri, Associate Professor, Department of Kriya Sharir, Institute for Ayurved Studies and Research, Shri Krishna AYUSH University, Kurukshetra, Haryana.

Dr. Manisha Khatri delivered an insightful and clinically oriented lecture focusing on the fundamental principles and practical relevance of Prakriti Parikshan in Ayurvedic practice. She elaborated on the scientific basis of constitutional assessment, various parameters involved in determining Prakriti, and its significance in understanding disease susceptibility, prevention, prognosis, and individualized treatment planning. Through clinical correlations and experiential insights, she effectively bridged classical Ayurvedic knowledge with contemporary diagnostic approaches. The session was interactive in nature, with students actively participating, raising queries, and gaining conceptual clarity regarding the practical application of Prakriti Parikshan in patient evaluation.

Following the lecture, Dean Prof. (Dr.) Anil Sharma addressed the students sharing his motivating words and emphasizing the importance of building a strong foundation in classical Ayurvedic diagnostics. He encouraged students to integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical practice and to uphold the scientific spirit of Ayurveda in their professional journey.

Internship Induction Programme (27/10/2025 – 01/11/2025)

A six-day Internship Induction Programme was conducted to orient newly inducted interns toward academic, clinical, administrative, and regulatory frameworks of the NCISM-authorised AYUSH system. The programme aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with clinical practice, familiarise interns with departmental rotations, institutional protocols, professional ethics, and national health programmes relevant to AYUSH services.

Key Components

1. Departmental Clinical Orientation
Faculty members from major AYUSH specialities—Kayachikitsa, Prasuti Ta**ra, Swasthavrutta, Shalya Ta**ra, Shalakya Ta**ra, Kaumarbhritya, and Panchakarma—conducted orientation sessions highlighting departmental scope, clinical practices, and internship expectations.

2. Awareness and Regulatory Sessions
Sessions were held on NABH standards and hospital quality systems, AYUSH regulatory bodies, PHC linkages, public health roles of AYUSH, personality development, and digital health initiatives including the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

3. Allied Professional and Institutional Domains
Interns were introduced to medical value travel and AYUSH visa systems, pharmacy and pharmacovigilance, laboratory services, medico-legal aspects, biomedical waste management, infection control, emergency and casualty management, MRD and documentation standards, HIMS, and e-logbook usage.

4. Mandatory Online Programmes and Skill Development
Orientation to mandatory NCISM-prescribed online programmes was provided, along with sessions on scientific presentation skills and preparation for national-level examinations.

5. Team-Building and Interactive Activities
Interactive workshops and team-building activities were organised to promote leadership skills, peer bonding, professional conduct, and a patient-centred institutional culture.
