The National Service Scheme, Dispur College jointly with the Dispur College Students’ Union – 2024-25 and in association with the Greater Ganeshguri Citizens’ Forum organised a major cleanliness drive in the Greater Ganeshguri area today – the 14th of August, 2025 – on the eve of the 79th Independence Day. The event marked the formal commencement of the fortnight-long “Swachhata Pakhwada – 2025” to be conducted from 14.08.2025 to 28.02.2025 under the umbrella of the national Swachhata Hi Sewa Campaign. The event coordinated by Mr. Sutibra Malakar – Programme Officer, National Service Scheme (NSS), Dispur College began at around 6:30 A.M. and saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 120 individuals, including 90 NSS volunteers. The rest were members of the Citizens’ Forum and the students’ union as well as other local citizens actively engaged in community betterment.
As the Swachhata Pakhwada continues, the organizers hope to inspire greater community involvement, with cleanliness and civic sense becoming a collective responsibility — a true tribute to the ideals of a Swachh Bharat.
