This collection of folktales takes us into the rich oral traditions of Northeast India, bringing together stories rooted in the landscapes and cultural memories of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and beyond.

From spirits in the forest to stories of wildlife, healing, justice and human relationships with nature, these tales carry timeless wisdom passed down through generations.

🌿 And this book holds a special connection to us.
Its author, Mijing Gwra Basumatary, is a faculty member in the Department of Geography, B. Borooah College (Autonomous).

Hem Barua Library, B. Borooah College (Autonomous), organised a Wall Magazine as part of the Internship Programme 2025 of the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).

The magazine was inaugurated by the Head of the Department, Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, DLIS, Gauhati University.

On the same occasion, a special lecture was delivered, enriching the interns with valuable academic insights and professional guidance.
