We have organized an Optics Teaching event on 21st Nov, 2023 in North Guwahati Girls High School with an aim to ignite the young minds with the knowledge on optics and its related areas. The classes were a culmination of theory as well as practical demonstrations from the aforementioned topics of class IX & X related to Optics, namely, Reflection, Refraction and Human Eye.

Thank you, everyone, for participating in the event 'Celebration of International Day of Light 2021' celebrated on 16th May. We hope that you have got some good knowledge from the lecture series. We also thank our speakers, Prof. Bosanta R Boruah, Prof. Alika Khare, and Dr. Sidananda Sarma for such knowledgeable and informative talks, and our HOD, Prof. Perumal Alagarsamy for giving a beautiful introductory speech and well-furnished introduction and achievements of our department. We are glad to invite you to participate in the "Celebration of International Day of Light 2021" which will take place on 16th May 2021. This is organized by SPIE. Student Chapter, IIT Guwahati in association with the Dept. of Physics, IIT Guwahati. As you know, the United Nations has declared the 16th of May every year as the International Day of Light (IDL), which is also the anniversary of the first successful operation of the laser in 1960 by the physicist and engineer, Theodore Maiman. The Optics community of IIT Guwahati has also been celebrating this day since its inception.

The online symposium will start at 03.00 pm. And is comprised of series of interactive online video lectures by knowledgeable physicists of IIT Guwahati followed by an online quiz for the students.

So grateful to Prof. Sรญle Nic Chormaic for delivering such a beautiful and informative talk today from 3500+ km away and sharing the interdisciplinary prospects and the applications of ultrathin optical fibres through a wonderful presentation. We are sure that the wide range of research prospects and applications mentioned will motivate our attendees, even more, to pursue research and implement their ideas in the field of optics.

It is so fascinating to see some pictures from even India and also to see her research group, an example of unity in diversity.
