Report: General Meeting for Upcoming College Fest

Venue: Sikkim Government Vocational College, Dentam
Organized by: Student Representative Council (SRC)
Date: 13 March 2026

Today, the Student Representative Council (SRC) of Sikkim Government Vocational College, Dentam successfully conducted a general meeting with the students regarding the upcoming College Fest.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss the preparation and planning of the College Fest and to collect suggestions, ideas, and feedback from the students. During the meeting, SRC members explained the importance of the fest and encouraged students to actively participate in different activities and events.

Students shared various creative ideas and suggestions for organizing cultural programs, sports events, and other activities during the fest. The SRC members also addressed some concerns and problems raised by the students and assured them that their suggestions would be considered in the final planning.

The meeting was conducted smoothly with active participation and cooperation from the students. Overall, the meeting was successful and helped in building enthusiasm among the students for the upcoming College Fest.

🗓️ 6th March 2026

For the second time, the students once again extended their support in organizing and arranging chairs at the new college campus. Under the guidance of SRC President Tashi Tshering Bhutia, the students continued the work of segregating and arranging the chairs properly for classroom use. 🪑🏫

With the coordination and supervision of RUSA Coordinator Sir Kiran Bushal, the students showed great dedication, teamwork, and responsibility in preparing the new campus facilities. 💪✨

Today, under the guidance of SRC President Tashi Tshering Bhutia and CR Jakai Rai, our students actively participated in the segregation and arrangement of chairs at our new college campus. 🪑✨

The activity was carried out in coordination with RUSA Coordinator Sir Kiran Bushal, who supervised and guided the process. The students showed great teamwork, unity, and responsibility in organizing the chairs systematically for future classroom use. 💪🏫

Gyalshing, February 23: An educational excursion under the Environment Education Programme (EEP) was organised for the students of Sikkim Government Vocational College (SGVC), Dentam, Gyalshing District, in alignment with the Government of India’s Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative. The programme emphasised environmental awareness, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable living practices among students.
The excursion proved to be highly informative and engaging, perfectly aligned with the objectives of the Environment Education Programme and Mission LiFE. It encouraged students to adopt environmentally responsible behaviours and strengthened their practical understanding of nature and biodiversity.
During the field visit, students learned about various bird species, their scientific names, unique characteristics, and geographical ranges. The session was both enjoyable and educational, offering hands-on exposure to bird identification and ecological awareness.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Bird Guide Mr. Lakpa Sir for sharing his valuable knowledge and expertise about birds and their habitats. Special thanks were extended to the Eco Club Coordinator, Dr. Pinklia Bhutia, for providing this wonderful opportunity. The students also conveyed their sincere appreciation to the Principal, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff for their continuous support and encouragement in making the programme
